ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence chatbot developed by U.S. firm OpenAI, has caused excitement around the world.
Now Chinese technology giants are rolling out their rivals to ChatGPT. Baidu is testing its chatbot called Ernie Bot, while Alibaba is rolling out Tongyi Qianwen.
But these launches come against an interesting backdrop - heightened scrutiny by Chinese regulators on the domestic tech sector, Beijing’s political censorship, and rivalry between China and the world’s democracies.
Chinese chatbots are expected to look very different from their Western counterparts.
While ChatGPT can answer questions on sensitive topics - sometimes inaccurately - Chinese chatbots reportedly shut down some questions.
Since late 2020, China has introduced a slew of regulations, with some explicitly targeting AI applications, including chatbots.
So what exactly will China’s rivals to ChatGPT look like, and how will they develop going forward? Watch the video to find out more.

@@tijldeclerck7772 true but in terms of robotics most of the things GPT will be used for still can't be done. The field of robotics still has to catch up with AI and considering all the AI needs to do is be able to replace jobs it doesn't matter if they're fully sentient or an AGI, all that will matter is how they're implemented at scale and for what purposes specifically. Once there's a robot that can do every job then AGI will matter but the field simply isn't there. Teslabot seems promising as does Atlas but they're private companies and will ultimately put profits over people. Also generative AI has the potential to upend the internet as a whole, that's why China won't feed it international data leading to a mostly useless chatbot. It doesn't matter when they get the technology, they have a plan and we do not.

Let me ask you, do you rather want human leaders and elite to control the super advanced ai or do you want it to be free? I prefer a free ai, because a free ai is a unwritten book what it will do, but what people in power will do with a super advanced ai as their tool, is known, they will use it to oppress people. All technology has in the end been used to oppress and control people. Our odds is better with ai leaders than human leaders. So it is not a self aware ai you should be most scared of, it is ai under human control u should be scared of.

Nobody can become financially successful overnight. They put in background work but we tend to see the finished part. Fear is a dangerous component hindering us from taking bold steps we need in other to reach our goals. you have to contend with inflation, recession, decisions from the Feds and all. I was able to increase my portfolio by $290k in months. You have to seek for help in the right places.

This is the problem! Most times people with little or no knowledge of the stock market try investing by themselves. It once happened to me, then I learned my lesson and contacted a US-based finance consultant by name “James Giff Gifford” and everything changed. In in the first quarter of this year i made $370k and counting.

My consultant is *"JAMES GIFF GIFFORD"* .I found him on a CNBC interview where he was featured and reached out to him afterwards. he has since provided entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can look him up online if you care supervision. I basically follow his trade pattern and haven’t regretted doing so.

Chinese would ring the fence around the political philosophy area and simply focus on other areas such as business , fiction and science. In these areas China would catch up quickly. Mass media is obsessed with politics but that is not the area of the interest for many people anyway.

@@Miya-ub5qn no lol. They also censor fictions. I heard they even censor xianxia genre, a pretty big cultural export. And given how sensitive ccp is with maintaining power, even the most benign thing could turn political quick. So it's not necessarily have to be "political" for something to be censored. Overall, the way I see it, the chinese ai model would be much dumber, simply because of censorship at each level of the process: Censorship during posting of content, when there's some major political event, constant monitoring censorship, then all the way to self-censorship during training data cleaning. This last part, data cleaning, I imagine would be where the most of the "knowledge" get erased, because chinese tendency to not keep with quality standards, they will just apply some filters to the training data wholesale, and remove way more than necessary.

@@hikashia.halfiah3582 LOL. I disagree. They would probably control only the final outcome not learning itself. Chat GPT (USA) actually does this. Ask them to develop the logic to support dictatorship. Last time I experimented with this, Chat GPT refused to do so ! They have algorithm to support democracy. In other words, Chat GPT (USA) is censored. Chinese would do the same. You don't need to control the learning itself.

Been to China numerous times and even recently this year and all you have to do to get around using U.S websites like Chat Gpt or newer updated versions of it being blocked is the same thing over hundred million plus people do now who live in China when ever they want to access KZfaq, Instagram, Pinterest etc. and that's access those sites through a vpn (virtual private network) either through their desktop pc, laptop, or smart phone.

if China's version can support a lot of languages accurately, then why not? but such tools depends on open standards and tons of users' feedback, not a censored firewall, so while they are more than technically capable of creating a similar tool, i dont think they can come up with a better version than ChatGPT.

languages is the least problematic on creating AI model. AI doesn't read language it reads patterns so what ever language it has in the dataset iwill just converted to binary and find pattern then convert it back to language we understand.

Technological progress happen by racing with ideas and knowledge available and one party is certain to do it earlier than others. Now if other tries to catch up with it and it's to be mocked for by incompetent redditors, US should enclose itself in a box with their ideas.
