I’ve learnt more about dealing with my concussion from this guy, than my GP, 2 paramedics, 4 hospital staff and 1 epilepsy nurse combined! Don’t stop, your info videos are a great help. 👍👍👍👍

The research typically reports higher dose for 7-14 days. I'd chat with your care team before changing anything. 🤙

Creatine can help aid in cognitive fatigue, headache, dizziness, etc... after a concussion. That said, always chat with your licensed healthcare provider before starting or changing any meds/supplements.

Thanks for the information! Is the 10-20g dose bodyweight dependent? I imagine a tall, muscular man would need more creatine than a short, thin, woman. Is there a formula for optimal dosage (like protein 1g/per pound of bodyweight)?

Nope. Interestingly, women may have higher baseline muscle creatine stores. The much higher dose is to push creatine past the blood brain barrier. Lots of mechanisms and jargon, but the punchline is that 20g is high enough for almost anyone to raise creatine levels.

Is it only beneficial to take creatine right after a concussion? Or can you also take it 3 1/2 years out?

I tend to see more benefit with creatine acutely, and other things like exogenous ketones more useful in PCS. Though, it varies patient to patient based on symptoms, other meds/supplements, health history, etc...
