I dont know why the rich muslim gulf states do not take in some muslim migrants. They need foreign workers, but they bring in workers from Nepal and Philippines. Nobody calls them Islamaphobic

The Gulf states are stable, rich countries where their citizens only form a small fraction of the population. For example, UAE nationals only form 10% of the population which is just under a million people. The 90% remaining are foreign workers. So they are vulnerable in a sense. They don’t give people citizenship even if one is born there. If they accept refugees, then what? They won’t get citizenship, they will refuse to go back if asked and then what? They will be stuck with them and could destabilise the country.

The people don't owe them, but the governments and the super rich owe them, because they are wrecking their home countries by starting wars and stealing natural resources, which makes it impossible for them to stay. Most people don't want to be migrants. It is people who suffer, from all countries, because of the wealthy and powerful.

Yes, these people flee countries and leave their wives and mothers in order to then walk around the center of Limassol and stare at girls or stalk them. A friend of mine recently had a case of stalking. And the next time my friend and I walked past him, he saw her and spat right at our feet.

if you expect any formal process in Cyprus to go quickly, prepare for huge dissapointment. I am here for over 20 years, I applied 4 years ago for a citizenship, last time I checked they told me thei review 2017 applications. If you like it here, if you don't have plans other than stay here, just live a decent life and work as hard as you can. No one will accept freeloaders here.

Due to how their home countries are being played in the international political arena they end up having to leave. If politics for money where not a game, your would not even have one refugee. You need to look at the cause, not the effect. Address the cause and the effect will go away. On the large these causes have nothing to do with the Republic of Cyprus, but many of the UN members are to blame for these refugees needing to leave their home country. Then the UN just dumps the problem on the Republic of Cyprus. Cyprus needs to call the International community out on the problems they are causing. Cyprus should hole those countries that are causing the refugees for creating the problems that result in refugees. Everyone just wants a safe place to live in peace with their family, but world politics only care about profit.

@@disdoncable Because the south is in the EU, so they have certain rights under EU law. Also ingenious Turkish Cypriots are not particularly religious they dont see it as their duty to help them even if they have compassion for them. Ingenious Turkish Cypriots are also not happy with the amount of Turkish people from Turkey living in north Cyprus, they have been out numbered and have their own issues living under occupation.
