give it a minute and i am sure someone will make a mod for this. i've been poking around in the balatro source (it is LUA) to make a scaled down version for old computers and it is quite easy to modify.

@@gamemaniac2013 the love game engine it runs in is not very efficient. that and there is actually quite a lot of complex math going on for the visual effects you see. there's a lot of complexity despite how simple it appears - for example the CRT effect is a shader.

Before you go on a run, if you want to progress further and unlock stuff, you have to enable challenges of various... challengeness level, which are all assigned challenge point values. For example, if my next progress milestone is at 30 cp, I need to win a run with challenges at least 30 cp in total or more. Is that similar to what you mean?

@@Philgob Hades has pacts of punishment. After you complete a run, you’ll unlock the pacts of punishment. This is a long menu of challenges/modifiers which you can choose to activate. For each one you do, you raise your Heat level. Your Heat level represents the level of difficulty. To continue to gain rewards, you need to complete runs on new Heat levels. This means, if you’re a more casual player, you can try to do as little as possible to raise the Heat level. Continually adding on small challenges to try and raise it just enough. But more hardcore players can go crazy with it, selecting tons of the maximum difficulty challenges. All the while being able to not deal with challenges/modifiers you don’t have an interest in. I believe the best way to understand it is to go look at Hades itself. But I think it’s an excellent system, and Balatro could come up with its own, equally awesome version.

I thought they did for the completionist++ for the gold stickers to the legendary jokers. Imagine rerolling 80 Times for legendary just to get a dupe.

Jupiter was already pretty busted. Of course, if your playing flushes all you need is a good econ joker and hit a s tier late game joker like campfire/madness and you can beat all the levels easily.

@@electricVGCthey didn’t buff flush (regular flush at least) in the new patch. They actually buffed every flush besides flush but flush remains the same. The only real difference is that the -1 hand size is no longer there making builds that require more complex hands more manageable. This is especially good for flush because flush was always one of the easiest medium scoring hands to make (not only odds wise but with tarots it’s much easier than other hands) which is probably what makes flushes more viable at gold stake.

Aside from building money for interest cap, you don't want to be adding cards that early into your run.

In a lot of TCG, the best way to build a deck is to make it as much consistant as possible. Less cards in your deck means more chance to draw the ones you want Spending money to potentially add card in your deck that will show up once in a while instead of going for your interest is most of the time not worth it

​@@zacharyjune7510the thing is, you dont want to add just any card in your deck, you have to get Lucky to get an enhenced card that fits your deck. 2 more chips for blue joker isnt going to make a difference. Not saying it is never worth it to open booster packs. But in early game, 4 dollars is way more valuable than a random card

it's still in the Public beta phase, if you play on Steam you should be able to opt into it if you want
