There is actually a special stat spread optimal for almost every build in the game. Its 7 strength, 5 perception, 8 endurance, 1 charisma, 5 intelligence, 6 agility, and 8 luck. Slight modifications can be made based on the build such as higher agility for vats builds, 1 luck for explosive builds, and high charisma for follower builds. Keep in mind perception actually has no effect on vats accuracy as it is bugged so there is no point going above 6 perception, and the health regen implant really isn't necessary at only 1hp per 10 minutes.

Ratslayer sniper build with Boones cap, graham's armor, and crit perks go hard.

For future reference, counterintuitive as this is, "Trigger discipline" is sort of a detriment for sniper builds because of the way accuracy works in NV. Every weapon has a positive "bullet spread" value, and unsurprisingly, long-range rifles have extremely low spread to begin with. This makes the 20% better accuracy do almost nothing, while 20% slower fire rate is a very noticable nerf in many situations. This also means that its counterpart fast shot is actually great for sniper builds. If a weapon has .05 bullet spread, youre getting 20% faster firing speed at the cost of raising the bullet spread to .06. An extremely generous tradeoff if you ask me.

I don't see anyone else mentioning this, but if I recall correctly you don't actually pay the 2,000 caps to enter the Strip, the Securitron only checks to make sure you have them.

I didn’t know that, but the easiest way into the strip for me at least is to hill the NCR soldier that warns you when you get to primm and steal his uniform. He’s separated from the rest of the NCR in primm, so they won’t aggro on you if you’re quick enough. Then you take that outfit, use it to board the monorail, and that’s that

If anyone is crazy enough to try this themselves, you should go with 9 Luck when you pick your SPECIAL stats (if you're using the same stats as Willow, I'd drain Strength since Ratslayer has a very low Strength requirement). Then stop at Novac and do Boone's quest to get the First Recon Beret, buy an implant to get to 10 Luck (if you need caps, just find a casino and play blackjack until they kick you out), and take the Finesse perk at level 10. This gets you a base critical hit chance of 20%. Ratslayer has a 5x critical hit chance multplier, which means every shot is now a critical hit that deals double damage.

I love that this game will not die. Really love how more and more people are appreciating the game. I bought it when it came out and remember it getting good enough reviews (noting it was extremely buggy) but it’s grown in appreciation over the years.

@@noconsequence4486 (as far as I know) in terms of how people use the word? Absolutely nothing. It's just technically more correct. Like you said, one is more accurate to what it does functionally. I think there's history behind it involving them originally being called "silencers" but people coined the term "suppressors" for the sake of not false advertising. Also movies and games make the bloody things why too quiet and it ruins the immersion for some of us. The way I see it, it's just something small enough you don't want to make a big deal about but large enough it annoys the fire out of you.

Willow I don't know if you will ever see this comment but here are some things about your modlist: -NVAC is outdated, use new vegas tick fix (nvtf) and 4gb patcher insted -B42 scopes is just a better version of NVTS -NMC large pack is waaay to large for new vegas-switch to low you won't notice any diffrence anyways -Follow Viva New Vegas guide for more stability and QOL mods EDIT: There are some other animation mods like New vegas clean animations(normal version and reborn), hits animations and anniversary animtion pack-would be cool if you check them for other videos

12:46 Pro tip on this area: before passing through if you want to do this smoother you can sneak up the ridge to the south I believe? You should be able to sneak past the bighorners up there, they'll show up as hostile but they shouldn't go out of their way to attack you if you keep your distance. Once past them there's nothing between you and the two Vipers east of these bighorners. At this distance the other Vipers to the northern hill won't aggro to you. I advise starting this engagement with a sneak attack then once you finish these two off, if you have a decent scoped weapon you should be able to get at least one sneak crit off the northern Vipers across the road.

Looks really painful experience also you can modded the hunting rifle into sniper from gra vendor. There is gobi scout witch is powerful but it requires 100 lockpick skill.

On one play through I stealth sniped Benny from the upstairs I jumped on a table. One shot to my surprise the guards stayed unaware and we're still passive I walked down approached. Looted benny then talked to them simple banter.

fun fact when sunny smiles gives you the varmet rifle if you drop your 30 rounds she give you 30 more the you pick up your rounds = 60 then do the mini quest i think she gives another 60 so 120 lol .. i just love tossing the mag at her feet and being like ops idk what happened to my ammo lmao

Personally, I love rushing Cottonwood Cove with sniper builds to get Gobi scout rifle as soon as possible. Thanks to better crit DMG than normal sniper rifle, it is basically the end game weapon that you can get reasonably quickly is you increase your lock picking to 100.

Nice job. Personally, I would have put a bit of a bigger focus on luck and stealth early on, and made a dash for the Ratslayer. On higher difficulty it is a bitch to get but I think speedrunning through the cave and grabbing it is a must for a sniper build.

Also I think Medium and heavy armor are somewhat detrimental to a good sniper build. Light armor has a crap load of benefits and perks related to it and precision and a quick getaway matter the most when youre sniping

Ive never modded nv but that 9mm scope with variable zoom is actually kinda neat, not super invasive either looks straight up like it could have been in-game. Crazed snipers, their the hardest to watch out for... cause you'll never see them.

Slight note here for those who would venture into the comments of a video that is already fairly old... Robert E. House is voiced by Rene Auberjonois. The same person who plays Odo in Deep Space Nine. I'm pretty sure every single Trekkie caught it as soon as I did... But when Willow mentioned House was his favorite character in all of Fallout I had to agree with a, "Fuckin' Odo, baby!" On my end. Although... House isn't my favorite... Anymore. That honor lies with Cvrie.

Ngl this is probably one of the more forgiving and easier challenges especially if you use something like a silenced .22 with 10 luck because armoured or not, it will result in either 1 shotting to the body or just dealing insane damage

Did you put any though into my suggestion for a vampire run in fallout 4? Only be out at night between 6:00 pm and 6:am with night person perk and cannibal (No stimpacks because they look like crosses)

The run is a failure from minute one. You will always exit the vault during the day. Even ignoring that I just don't find the concept difficult, more so tedious with having to waste half the time of the run hiding inside, also obsessing over the in game clock isn't difficult or interesting. Don't get me wrong, it's still on the list and members could vote for it one day but unless there's something added to it or changed with how it would work it's a bit of an odd one to make. Thank you for the suggestion and please don't let this discourage you from suggesting other runs! I just like being honest. You're beautiful and thank you for the comment!

ok let me give a nugget of wisdom to everyone who wants to play new vegas dont waste time and points on charisma it slightly increases trading and makes folowers better that is it money is only a problem really early game after that u wil most likely be drowning in caps and folowers can be good but not on hardcore where they constantly give away your posision while ur sneaking and then either get killed or get u killed that is why most make charisma a dump stat

One of the easiest ways to play NV tbh save when you get forced into close quarters and you can still just barrel stuff with the anti-material rifle.

Ok, typing this before I watch it through. This will be an interesting challenge, though sneak may be able to even things out. Ratslayer is a good unique for this if you’re stealthing through, but if Endgame is anti-material, this will be fun to see, curious as to who our endgame is.
