Metronome, simultaneously my favorite and second least favorite move. It's frustrating as hell, but when you get good rolls (i.e. Roar of Time, Sheer Cold, etc.) that actually hit it's one of the most satisfying things ever.

Here's a REALLY hard challenge for you: A playthrough of Pokemon Firered where you *TAKE THE DOME FOSSIL INSTEAD OF THE HELIX FOSSIL*

I used to have fun using Metronome in game. Except that one time when my Togekiss threw away my lucky egg via Fling in order to slaughter a random Smeargle.

Ya know, I can't believe it's taken me this long to think of it but a good challenge would be an Assist only challenge: Assist is a move that uses a random move from the rest of your team, so the idea is you can only use your first slot pokemon and it ONLY has the move Assist.

I’m guessing the one hit KO moves work because they have metronome accuracy, which is much larger than any other one hit KO move because it cannot miss

If you'd started with a Togepi, you would have Metronome immediately.

On the other hand, this video was honestly the MOST ENTERTAINING CHALLENGES that I've ever seen you do. Between the bad luck, good luck and comic relief, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. You should do a challenge with only plot-necessary fights, ie. No grinding.

3 OHKO moves kit from Metronome in a row? Metronome has access to 336 moves in Gen 3 (354 moves in Gen 3 - a list of moves that Metronome can't access). 4 of the moves Metronome can hit are OHKO moves (Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill and Sheer Cold). If we don't care for what OHKO move you use, you have a 1.19% chance of using any OHKO move once. This decreases to 0.000169% for any 3 OHKO moves in a row. All OHKO moves have 30% accuracy, so hitting a 30% accuracy move 3 times in a row is a 2.7% chance, assuming no accuracy debuffs. You got 0.00000456% odds there. If I have done the math wrong, let me know. [EDIT: This is wrong for this particular instance due to OHKO moves being slightly more interesting, correct value is in Edit section for this battle, I didn't do enough research.] Take part in the fucking lottery, MDB. You and whatever fossil you took. Which one did you take, by the way? Edit: Ok, so OHKO moves increase accuracy by 1% the higher the level difference between the two Pokémon. THe active Pokemon is 19 levels above the Nidorino, 15 levels above the Nidoqueen and 21 levels above the Kangaskan, so rather than cubing a constant 30% accuracy, you instead multiply by each separate accuracy value for each Pokemon. This increases your chances slightly, to 0.000019% Keeping the old value there as the minimum value for hitting 3 OHKO moves in a row via metronome.

Always enjoy a good metronome run. Thank you for doing it, as even though I know you could make it all the way through, but a tough and time consuming challenge.

On the route just before rock tunnel there is a bug trainer at the top of the route. He has two kakuna's when you first fight him but if you rematch him with the versus seeker he has two Beedrills that give 500 exp each if I remember correctly. I used to grind there when I was younger, it's a good spot to grind and somewhat early as well. Not sure if it's helpful now but I don't think many people know about this.

Kinda bummed you didn’t turn on animations for the main fights... that’s half the fun of metronome is seeing a clefable use all kinds of crazy moves

Suggestion: I know you’ve gotten requests to show footage between major battles, and I understand why you *don’t* do that. I think it would be better for viewers if you included transitions between the major battles. Like even seeing your character approach and speak to the next trainer/gym leader/rival would make the viewing experience more pleasant. Otherwise it’s just one continuous Pokémon battles that kinda takes you out of the journey. Sure, there’s your script but the visual transitions would help a lot.

Making your grind screen smaller and set in a still background was really smart! I'm not prone to seizures, but the border gives my eyes a place to take a break while still getting an idea of what's going on through my peripheral vision. :)

Can you do a challenge where you can only can use STATUS moves!? It doesn’t matter what gen you do it in but someone did this on heartgold. Or there’s a challenge where you can only use delibird because it’s Christmas so... WYNAUT! Because it only learns present via level up but It gets some pretty good tm moves but if you do this challenge on gen 3 or higher then your accuracy luck will be hard!

Next challenge idea: can you beat whichever game you choose with every mon that you wanna but not telling the world which fossil you've chosen and not getting asked in the comments or live chat. This sounds pretty impossible to me.
