If the bat doesn't break when smashing against your knee, it's putting all the pressure against your knee, when it breaks, the break itself will cushion the blow. this is why people who smash a bottle against their head make sure it breaks in one shot otherwise it's exponentially more painful.

Try it with a lacrosse stick, they're a bit thinner. It'll still be hard but i think you can do it. And for the sake of your leg get a carbon fiber stick because you'll go through this again if you get metal or wood

You should have held it by the ends when you tried and you don't really swing down but you push down and stiffen then you bring the knee up.... You should try breaking the bat by kicking it now, you'd probably have a better chance of getting it that way. 😁👍
