Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZfaq channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Read a book quite a few years ago now called '4 Iron in the soul' True story about a journalist who takes a year off to become a golf caddy for a tour pro. Really good book, really funny and eye opening about what some of the caddies go through particularly when caddying for lesser known golf pro's. Definitely recommend it.

I'm sure it's a significant adjustment that a player has to make when they have a caddie, but I did feel that Rick didn't make it and constantly over-rode Will's advice. Will didn't fight him on it, which I suspect is the sign of a good caddie anyway. The other thing that I noticed Rick doing that maybe Will could have pulled him up on was thinking holes ahead instead of focussing on the ball at his feet and the shot needed to play that. Certainly all Will's advice was about that shot, not some mythical shot on the next hole.

I love the confidence he put on Rick at 42:30 with Rick worrying about the branches and Will responds with "Naw, you're gonna be fine, don't even see the branches" and then follows it immediately with "You can, yes you can" when Rick starts to question where he can drop it. Fantastic to see how a Caddie works with the golfer. Wish you all the best in your Tour career Will.

Great video, one of my favorites in this series. Loved Will Davidson. I can see the value on the reinforcement, the keeping focus, etc., even when it's nothing more than an "I agree." Maybe I'm just speaking too much for myself, but even when I am "pretty sure" I know the line--even on short putts, or how to play a shot into the green, etc., there's some small amount of doubt that keeps me from fully committing too many times. I need a Will Davidson in my life.

I think the best thing Will did for you today was keep your head level. When you have a non-ideal start in these break 75 videos, you tend to over think things and he didn’t give you the opportunity to and it really showed with the way you finished the round. Great video as always, Rick!

Love his demeanor. Caddies are so good at never getting down and making sure the only shot you are thinking about is the one you are about to hit and not the bad one you just hit. Interesting. Wish you had answered the question after the round concerning what you feel you gained with a caddie (to help you play/score better), and how did it change your approach to a course you know well.

If I didn't know any better, I would think you were playing in North Carolina, US. Reminds me of a lot of courses around here. I'm addicted to your channel!

Fantastic video and series Rick! You’re swinging it really nicely. But I think it’s time for a full bag fitting. You’re looking stronger since Scotland and the consistent strong draw to the left suggests the shafts might be too weak. A fitting with the TXG boys would be epic!

Really good video, I was sitting watching willing every putt to go in, just like the masters on a Sunday night.

This was quite educational. It was also nice to see that even though this was just for fun, the caddie took it very serious and it showed with the outcome. Rick your videos are great and your podcast is so much fun to watch. i would love to see a video of you and Guy with caddies at Royal Port Rush gold club. Maybe a finale for the final Can I break 75 for the year.

Very nice, Rick! You kept your head in the game and didn’t talk yourself into a bad round. Instead, you got over your bad shots quickly and shot a great round because of it. 🤘🏻
