Well because when you’re buried you don’t want a slow grind to get it back, you want it back now so you bet big. Knowing all it takes is one hand and they could be un stuck. That’s obviously impulsive, counter productive thinking but I’ve been there. It’s tempting to just put a big bet out there thinking “I’ve been losing, I’m due to win”

@@MnS-tp3ts The odds are not even. That being said, I’ve crawled out of many holes. The important part is to do it strategically, not impulsively like he is doing here. He’s betting emotionally hoping to fix it in one hand. When you’re stuck piles and start getting tilted it’s easier to say to yourself “well I’m already down $3000, what’s another $1000?” and start risking more than you would normally in one hand. That’s how you default on your mortgage and get your car repossessed and go completely broke. Emotional gambling never ends well. Being a good gambler isn’t about how much you win, it’s about how well you minimize your losses, because EVERYBODY loses.

Seriously.. After the first grand I’d have changed games. Looked for a 6D, S17, or any other half decent shoe game. We all know it defies logic but sometimes a specific dealer or game just crushes you. Personally if I saw their high limit was $100 min with H17 I’d never have played it in the first place. You can find better on the strip lol.

@@parlarry6290 agreed, but I've had deep runs of 10 wins in a row or more so I've had different experiences and sometimes going against the book helps. Ultimately I would also say being able to count cards helps so you know when to bet big like the $1000 hand he played on my count he simply had to bet $100 for 2 more rounds and go all in with the $800 he had a high probability of winning.
