Great job man! Loved the video! Did that completely fix it? Also how many miles is it at? I’m looking at buying an 06 750Li with only 80k miles but seems to have some transmission issues aswell.
@LIFEBUILDZchannel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes the transmission swap completely fixed it, i even did a burnout before changing the tires to make sure it was a strong tranny! I will warn you though, it took me about a week of driving/checking the fluid level to get it perfect because they are finicky transmissions when the fluid level isn’t correct. Mine has 145k miles on it so I’d say go for the 80k one and check the fluid level

Found a 2006 at 95,000 kilometers for $5,000 now I'm here doing research and so far, majority of inouts from mechanics and other vloggers are "Run" or "Endless money pit". 😂

@@LIFEBUILDZchannel But its still only 95,000 kilometers and only for $5,000. Basing on what the lady said, its mostly garaged and usually only used on summers. Cheacked out a lot of pics, no warning lights on dash, only problem she mentioned is there's a small leak but she's not sure where its coming from. Still figuring out a date for me to go check it out. On the background pic, seems like she lives in a mansion too, so I think she just got bored of it. Rich people problems, you know. 😂

Would you recommend this for a total beginner? I was thinking of starting this kinda thing
@LIFEBUILDZchannel3 жыл бұрын
I definitely wouldn’t start with a transmission swap as a first project. However, yes this overall process of fixing up cars I would totally recommend as a beginner. That’s how I learned, just simply buying broken cars, motorcycles, Jetskis, etc and learning to fix them through KZfaq videos

Can you reach to rear main seal with transmission removed? Replace it while you there, the next owner will appreciate it.
@LIFEBUILDZchannel3 жыл бұрын
Yes It’s much easier to reach the rear main seal while the transmission is out. I’ll try to replace it on the next transmission swap

Hello.i have bmw 2003 745 li.When put D it,s take P .when put R it,s take back P again.what kind of transmission problem is it?please let me know if you have any idea,thanks
@LIFEBUILDZchannel Жыл бұрын
It sounds like it’s low on fluid or low battery. If the battery drops below 12v it will engage park also if the fluid level in the transmission is low it will lock itself back into park in order to prevent damage Hope this helps
@senorrobbie198511 ай бұрын
I'm late to the party, but look into the mechatonics unit as well. Mine did the exact same thing about 4 years ago and that ended up being the problem. Been running fine since!!
@jass79814 күн бұрын
Did you start the car, put it in each gear and hold for 10 seconds, and then check the fluid? It will pour out if you don't do any of that. Most likely you ran your car with very low fluid and damaged the transmission. I just bought an '08 that is shifting very hard. I suspect it is low on tran fluid and the sleeve is broken inside. Ordered new fluid, pan, and all 5 sleeves. Hopefully that fixes it. If it doesn't, I will junk the car. Only paid $3,500 lol
@LIFEBUILDZchannel4 күн бұрын
I did actually do all those steps off camera, I ended up replacing the transmission in the next episode
@jass79814 күн бұрын
@@LIFEBUILDZchannel I saw that video! I’m praying mine is just low on fluid and the sleeve is cracked. Car is immaculate for a 2008. Has new rubber almost worth as much as the car.

Nice job cant believe you can do all this from youtube knowledge. No schooling at all? Also i have a bmw 530i and the hood release broke on it to and you might just have to pull it super hard with pliers and front the right angle. Thats how mine is but it works every time like that it broke off with enough of the wirse sticking out with the old handle off that i cant grab it with the pliers it came with in the trunk and open it.
@LIFEBUILDZchannel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah I've never had any automotive schooling, just a lot of trial and error with KZfaqs help! I think what happened with this one is that the cable was stretched so bad that even when I yanked on it, it wouldn't release.

@@LIFEBUILDZchannel oo okaayy, watch out for those bmw v8s tho the timing chain guides are plastic and theyre known for going and being expensive to fix
@LIFEBUILDZchannel3 жыл бұрын
@@thisguyfromyoutubesaid1537 Yes they are! I've actually done 3 timing chains on the v8 BMW's because the quote was like 10k and I found the parts for $400
