Can I Save This DOOMED Ruler in Crusader Kings 3? I sure hope so, as today we take a look at King Garcia of Spain, the WORST
In this video, Koifish will show how to not only survive, but thrive as the Spanish ruler Garcia of Spain! In this CK3 Challenge I will be trying to survive in Iberia as the WORST KING out of the Jimena Dynasty rulers, the massive house that rules all of northern Iberia in the 1066 start date!
Not only does he have to survive countless of plots and intrigue, but also his own dynasty, which all struggle for power in the Iberian Struggle, the hit mechanic from the CK3 DLC Fate of Iberia!
Will King Garcia be able to unite the realm despite his unruly family? Or will he go down the path that real history took, and end up without a crown? Only one way to find out!
This is a part of the Crusader Kings 3 A-Z series, where I play as every recommended starting character in CK3! And this one is the ruler with the lowest stats of them all: King Garcia!

This was really good, I’m loving the A-Z series! One thing to keep in mind for 1066 starts is that Rodrigo Vivar exists from the beginning (and becomes El Cid through scripted events). If you are playing as a female ruler in diplomatic range you can often find him and marry him so he’ll lead your armies.

That wedding failing was such an unfortunate thing to see. The bride became Soulmates with her groom right before they got married, so because shes a Catholic and got caught, she instantly went to jail. Wish this got fixed.

King Garcia was the first ever character I played in CK2. Most started on Tutorial Island, I started on Tutorial Peninsula.

I'm currently playing the 1066 start in Iberia using yours, and others, espionage starting strategies. A M A Z I N G ! ! ! Created my Count and launched him from little ole Soria outside of Burgos, headed by none other than King Sancho. Originally he was placed into the chancellor role , but soon, made it into the spymaster position...and then the real fun started. My sways and murders and kidnappings were nearly impossible to stop when executed in the northern Spanish realm (I did change the name to Espa`na) or the near by Catalan and Acquitaine-Carcassonne holdings. The Emir's and Sultans that dominate the majority of the peninsula have proven much harder to infiltrate, though. And now I'm "impressing" some other courts on a grander scale after keeping it local for a spell. The Count kept living, many years, after his son ascended to the throne of Castille which includes Galicia and northern Portucale, with Leon still being dealt with after SEVERELY weakening their strength from family ties and, you guessed it, murders and kidnappings. After 75 sun rotations around the earth, Count Brionne of Soria took his last breath and his son, at 51years of age, took the Kingdom because we had to murder 4 of the grandsons wives (before he even reached 24 years of age...the guy was plagued with emotional strife and succomed to a seizure at 30 yrs) to ensure he didn't procreate and establish another heir. And also leaving many children in high places scattered throughout various local regions. Oh yeah, I kickstarted Spain's overseas conquests by invading and conquering the nearby island of Madeira, though that was only 1 of 3 counties I conquered by force in 50ish years of playthrough, because they had the balls to raid Spanish lands! Many thanks for an exciting new way to play!

Quick Spanish tip: the "X" in Ximena is pronounced like the h in "hit", so the proper way to pronounce the name is "Him-ay-nuh"

Actuallly, since this is Medieval Spanish, it should be pronounced as "sh". It wouldn't start to be pronounce as "h" at least until the 16th century.

My first game of CkII was playing the tutorial, I had no idea what I was doing so I ended up in a 10-15-year-long war over the Galican throne. It was beautiful and by far the best CK playthrough i ever had. That game spawned so many stories

I used to pick Garcia because before the Iberian struggle DLC (I think) you could form Portugal as a king and he could very easily firm Portugal. Also Portuguese culture is pretty good.

Hey Koifish. Any chance you'll play the Extended Startdate mod and play in some other startdates? I never play CK3 without it as the vanilla startdates are so limited in my opinion :/
