I remember when I went on a school trip to a zoo on a special occasion were the zookeepers took us on a tour through routs that you don't usually go through during normal visits. They showed us the bird of prey show where they showcased predatory birds one by one flying over the audience while the zookeeper tell us facts about the bird species. The show used to normally be scripted but this time they had more time letting the audience to ask questions during the showcase. They told us more about each individual bird than just their species. There was one squeaking bird of prey with large claws that looked like a falcon or a small hawk. I don't remember what the zookeeper exactly said but she briefly mention something that bird could imitate voices. One girl from the audience requested the zookeeper to show it say something and the zookeeper said some phrase in English to the bird which the bird suddenly moves its beak responded with "Hello!" in a parrot-like voice. They normally don't request the bird to say anything during normal scripted performance so I wonder what kind of bird of prey was that? I have never heard a bird of prey imitate human speech before. Looking at their site, their only bird of prey species was some large black hornbill, buzzard and falcon. The buzzard looked more closer to that one talking bird of prey I remember but I had never seen any information mentioning that they could be trained to imitate speech.

I clean large aviaries for raptors and am always looking for tips on reading their body language so I can know if they need a break. This helps a lot. Just found your channel. Thank you

Great video! I so wish I could really know what my Harris is thinking, especially because she's young and still does quite some squawking. Often that on one leg and floofed up, looking quite content. We feel that we know her body language pretty well and can tell when she's nervous around others. While standing on her perch even when we're close, she gives a good leg and wing stretch (often while squawking, which changes in pitch during the stretch LOL). I think that also must mean things are ok. Communication is so important!
