So far I'm doing good, approaching retirement with about 800k in savings. Transitioning from building wealth to spending can be scary, especially with soaring inflation. My question is, after maxing out my tax-advantaged retirement accounts, what next?

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.,,

Really enjoyed this video. I'm considering your advice, because thousands of dollars have been disappearing from my 401k due to soaring inflation, and my concern is where to safeguard and grow remaining cash about $500k+ for the next 2-3 years at no risk. I'd love to retire early and afford a life after retirement.

I'm disabled and eager to work, but doctors won't allow it. I inherited $200,000, held by my sister in a bank. It's not earning interest, which seems unfair. I want to explore options for it- (stock market investing).

I'm glad I got into crypto when I did because it’s been a turning point for me financially, been my best decision so far.

I’m 55 from southeastern Ohio but worked overseas all my life. I have savings of $1,000,000 and I'm ready for retirement, only concerned about the soaring inflation. Is this enough to retire comfortably, or do I need some sort of money management?

Assuming you have 7fig then it makes sense for a dividend play. Low 6figs and below should concentrate on growth.

He has to take into account huge capital depreciation like right now in order to get a true picture. Now all the Reits are hammered really really bad. All dividends collected over 15 years can be wiped out by the capital depreciation.

I am currently in my 50s and This is no time to taper retirement savings. I want to max out my retirement contributions and I also have another $120k in a savings account that i want to invest in a non-retirement account. Where would you invest this as of now?

He probably has to save half of that 6% to account for inflation for capital preservation

An insightful coverage on some key benefits of dividend investing (e.g. dividends are tax-exempted) and considerations to take note of before jumping right into a stock (e.g yield trap).

I suffered delisting, rights issue, stock split, depreciating capital and dividends on some solid blue chip dividend paying shares. After doing some homework for comparison, i realised that if i took a slower and steadier approach to investment such as putting in fixed deposit, i will actually earn more over the long term....less stress and less risk

A balanced life is the key as your senses dull as you age. Christoper Ng made a lot of sacrifices during his youth so he can retired early. But he missed out the great times and vacations when he was young. Now he can afford it but he is older. It won’t be the same.

Dividends are dope. Personally, I sometimes use my dividends to buy other dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same stock. To each their own methods though. The good thing is that you’re investing in the first place and that’s what’s important. Salute for the content!

The only sale that people run out of the stores is a stock market sale. Also is called Di-vi-dend, not Der-vi-dend as mentioned by Christopher at

It's interesting that this video is produced when SG-reits are hitting 52-week lows. It's best if investor follow the dividend irrelevance theory, treating dividends and capital gains equally.

The problem with dividend stocks is the very very high and real risk of capital DEPRECIATION

Dividend investing looks for mature and stable businesses that can consistently generate high free cash flows and pay regular stable or even growing dividends to their shareholders. You want to buy them when their fcf yield is high and dividend yield is high with moderate payout rate. The risk is buying into troubled businesses either because they plague with internal problems or they in a terminal declining sector.
