My cousin once said that middle eastern / islamic reform is akin to ‘doing an open heart surgery, kidney replacement, liver transplant and removal of brain tumour, done all at the same time without anaesthesia by a cobbler…’ looks like MBS is that cobbler!!!

today Kushal was out of touch. Harris was saying the same thing with nuance, but Kushal was unable to grasp that Harris was later on the same side of debate with finer nuance. But still kushal kept challenging the same old stance. Somehow Kushal mind was shut today, not expected from him. His mind was totally only stuck in proving 'islam is reformable', but without actually attentive listening arguments of Harris. Though I mostly do not like harris non-depth arguments in other debates mostly, but today he was nuanced and far better..

honestly not that hard - you throw out all the Hadiths, and you throw out Tabari - and you say that the Hadiths were written by Mohammad's enemies to defame him. Then everyone becomes quranist - then people realize that mhmd in Quran is referring to Jesus - then they all convert en masse to christianity and atheism.

The Shaktha tradition in Hinduism equally treats men and women. Both are eligible for mantra initiation and all the Pooja paddhati. I am a practicing Shaktha and can vouch for it. There are traditions in the Hindu faith that are equal for both genders.

As far I have knowledge about these things,vedas and upanishads don't discuss much about casteism and our dharm's main goal is to attain moksh ,now it is not written that only particular community should attain moksh and I am strictly against caste discrimination but why blame only generals( especially brahmins) it is followed by everyone even among S.C.s

Simple answer : NO ; to reform is to object to word of Allah as in Quran and thus no reformation can be brought . Only way to reform Muslims is for people to renounce the crude traditionalist islamic perspective and maybe retain any spiritual learnings in Quran if there are . As long as they remain people of the book , any reform/ co-existence in harmony is dubious .

You are right. There are even more resason why Islam can't be reform. I have been studying about islam form 2014 and even talked and listened to experts in Arabic. No one agrees that Islam can be reformed. Everyone who belives that islam can be reformed are the one who have never read Quran and hadith.

That may be true but the interpretations can be changed and modernized to fit the 21st century. I think that will a good middle ground that can actually be palatable for most Muslims.

The text is "If you are having sex with a small girl and you rip her apart in a way that her anus and vigina are now connected and have become one then it is not required for the girl to take bath othwise she should take bath."

When kushal start to explain the brahman to him it became very weird and funny.. 😅 its actually very complex as well as most simple thing to explain. Simple for sanatani but most difficult who are at completely different platform. Concept of brahman can be easily understandable by hindus , Buddhist, jain ( who are at one platform) but very difficult for Christian, muslims, jews ( who are at other platform)

Brahman to pehli baar sun raha hu ye bhram hota hai. Aur dusra 2 simple concept hain. Water in ocean concept, anither is parrot in tree concept. First one is advait, second is dwait. How difficult is that? I think Harris got confused because Brhama is god, Bhraman is caste, And he was speaking brahmn so definitely confusing for non India.

Leave aside Muslims; even the majority of Hindus don't understand the concept of Brahman. Not even those who are spiritual gurus. Our own people don't know the true nature of the divine. Recently, I had a debate with a Muslim and just couldn't grasp the idea of Advaita. It's like I'm trying to make a fifth-class kid understand Einstein-level physics. It was so funny and frustrating at the same time. How can you make someone understand such highly philosophical things when all their life they've believed in a book full of every kind of commandment in the name of God? The book has made them so against seeking and narrowed their intellects.

In pune recently, a trained mbbs doctor was caught operating isis module. This shows that traditional education which tells people that all religions are equal and are path to God doesn't help. We need to teach people that all religions equal in only one sense that they are all man-made and are all used to control masses with examples of what they have done wrong historically. If you try to modify any one religion it will backfire, they will claim they are being targeted and will also point out flaws in other religions. International pressure will be another big issue. Only solution to religious extremism is to teach truth about all religions. But politicians won't go for it as it's (religion)a convenient tool for them as well. All religious leaders will choose the tune of " every religion should be respected " instead of" every religion should be criticized equally".

i think it would be beneficial for you to look into the works of Prof Sayyed Hossein Nasr and Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri. They seem to represent an islam which holds onto the spiritual aspects of islam and embrace a perennial philosophy and more of a advaita/sufi concept of one God in the sense of one reality manifesting in a multitude. Prof Nasr also supports the Idea of Idols in Hindu being divine images rather than mere idols. He shows in his biography of proph Muhammad that the proph protected the images of mary and jesus from being destroyed as he saw them as sacred divine images.

Short answer -no Long answer - nooooooooo The main difference between islam and other religious communities is that the voice of resistance is large and pretty vocal in all other religions except islam. The sane Muslims have little to no voice in the community. Look at the society in highly developed society like in Kerala. Look at Muslim community and others there. Muslims are extremely religious and all others are not so much.

There is one best way which can be done is to bring the muslims back to sanatan dharma by accepting them and mixing them slowly with us.. and this has to be strongly and openly backed by our dharma gurus. I remember a major incident in 1979 that happened in Saudi Arabia. King Faisal had started social reforms. He allowed movies to be shown. He allowed women newsreaders with their faces uncovered reading out the daily news. The religious fanatics were furious about this. One such group carefully planned an attack on Mecca. They smuggled weapons in the Grand Mosque in coffins. People used to bring dead bodies for the blessings of Imam. In November 1979, they started the assault on the mosque. They were all well trained in the military warfare. They were well prepared. They managed to capture the Grand Mosque for more than a month. Saudi government was caught off guard. They had to call French commandos to rescue the mosque. After mess was sorted out, Saudi government scrapped all the reforms and went back to being staunch Wahabis. They even allocated huge money so that the same extreme ideology can be preached in the mosques worldwide. I am afraid something similar does not happen as a result of MBS doing reforms in Islam.

On the thought experiment mentioned I want to add that in Shia Islam it is allowed to lie to saves your life or someone elses. Called taqiya. One can disagree with it, but end of the day most people will lie even if they consider lying wrong in any situation. I think it is rational and logical thing to do in such situations. Granted it could be open to abuse like any other injections.

Once, there was a king who wanted to teach his sons about the nature of reality. He asked his minister to bring him a clay elephant. The minister did as he was told and presented the clay elephant to the king. The king then asked his sons to touch different parts of the clay elephant and describe what they felt. The first son touched the trunk and said, "It is like a snake." The second son touched the ear and said, "It is like a fan." The third son touched the leg and said, "It is like a pillar." The fourth son touched the tail and said, "It is like a rope." The fifth son touched the tusk and said, "It is like a spear." The king then asked his sons, "What is this clay elephant?" The sons argued with each other, each claiming that their perception was the truth. The king smiled and said, "You are all right and you are all wrong. This clay elephant is made of clay, and clay is the only reality. The shapes and forms that you perceive are only illusions created by your senses and mind. The same clay can be molded into different shapes, but the essence remains the same. Similarly, the ultimate reality is Brahman, and everything else is an illusion created by your senses and mind. Brahman can be conceived in different ways, but the essence remains the same." The sons were amazed by the king's wisdom and understood the concept of Brahman and monism. They thanked the king and the minister for their lesson and bowed to them. I hope this story helps you understand the concept of Brahman and monism better. 😊

Seems like there’s more than what meets the eye. Seems like corporates, mining corporations are involved and the government is weighing revenue vs local’s demands. But, the protest for Article 6 has been peacefully going one for more than 4 years… and neither Left or Right wing media seem to want to cover it.. or even bring it up for discussion. Even Kushal has never even bothered to mention it. Looks like there are big corporations involved that have vested interests in the natural resources of Ladhak that have managed to silence both the Left and Right wing. I’d have expected at least a mention of it from KZfaqrs like Kushal and others.

According to hindu philosophy, explained by Vivekananda, religious practices of worshipping, prayers,rituals are only physical practices to inspire spirituality but by themselves cannot be considered spirituality. Spirituality is journey inwards through the mind and religion is external expression and regimentation. In that sense even an atheist can be spiritual without a belief in God since that person could be enquiring about aspects of this world not perceived by the senses.

Grounds according to which islam can’t be reformed, but before going there we first know how other religions were reformed Hinduism- not a single book governing religious principles, so it’s easy to bring change and also the nature of religion is to seek Christianity- though the religion has ‘one’ book but the religion leans towards mercy and forgiveness etc.. Islam- the problem with islam is that this religion is highly political, if you here islamic satsang😅 you will feel that the content is highly geopolitical and least spiritual(if spirituality is a thing😅) but when you hear the satsang of Christianity’s Sunday service or hindu’s satsang you will find that these religion talk more about life and god and values and not geopolitics
