Hang in there Daniel if you can. I was in the royal navy and got to two weeks in and thought I couldn't carry on. Bawled my eyes out when I called my parents my dad said to preserve and speak to my instructor which I did. And I carried on and loved it. Everyone has that breaking point in basic training it's hard. Good luck to Daniel though. And Sue you are amazing, hang in there too!

I joined the Army when I was 16 and wanted to leave after a week. I was persuaded to stay a little longer as they said it was just home sickness which is understandable. I eventually retired from the Army after 24 years service, the best times of my life and certainly the best friends that I have ever made and I am still in touch with them to this day. Just for context, I joined in 1974 and left in 1998. I still miss my Army days but like I said still have life long friends that are there for me if I need them (and vice versa). Keep going Daniel, it does get better, basic training is hard but once you pass out it is a different life altogether. You have picked a fantastic career path which I promise you you will not regret.

Tell your son that not many people “enjoy” basic training. I went to basic training 47 years ago, the first couple of weeks are always the hardest because everything is so foreign. But alter the initial induction thing will become routine and he will begin to see why the first few weeks are hard.
@ladyp5828
@ladyp5828 3 жыл бұрын
It’s meant to be hard isn’t it as it’s really meant to push them to the limit as they need to be tough incase of war. If it was easy and nice it would not make for strong resistant fighters. As that’s ultimately what they are isn’t it. I spoke to a man in the army and he said the training is almost meant to break you so they can rebuild you to be the best you can be. I hope he doesn’t give up but if it’s not for him it’s not for him. The army isn’t suitable for everyone is it.

My daughter retired last year from the Army here in America. She had almost 25 years in. Its a tough road with basic training but your son will do great with family encouraging him. We have an organization here that began in 1942 during WW2. Its called Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. You may have a similar group in the UK that helps support Mothers and families of active, reserves and national guard as well as veterans. All best wishes to your son and the family who supports and serves also. God bless.

Our first was 4 weeks full lockdown of the whole country then we went to level 3 so some people could return to work but schools remained closed for another 3 weeks (7 weeks homeschooling). Then later in the year we had another two weeks at level 3 - so another two weeks homeschooling. That's it for us so far and it was bad enough with two kids! I've heard people say we are in the same storm, but not in the same boat. I think that's a better way to look at it.

I'm glad I didn't have to do the home schooling during the pandemic. I would've invested in headphones for each of them. I love doing laundry and I'm impressed you stay up on it with so many. With 22 kids, I'd insist on two washers and two dryers. Enjoy watching/listening to your vlogs. I am fairly new to your channel. Had to stop watching the new ones and go start from the beginning, so I'd have a reference to what you all are referencing at times. God bless, and I'm glad you're not having to do the home schooling any longer. I could've and would've done it, but wouldn't have enjoyed it at all. How much more we appreciate our teachers after this.

I'm so glad that Noel's dad is okay!!! My mother used one of those alert bracelets when she still lived alone in her house; it was a big help! Poor Daniel!!! 😢 I do think he's having a normal reaction to his first time being away from the family though, and it WILL get better!!! Bless you, Sue!!! What a job you're having keeping up with the home schooling!!! 🏅🏅🏅 I know that I wouldn't be doing as well! Thanks for the update on your upstairs hall. I know you're tired and frustrated, but you'll love it when it's finished. Continued love and health to all from across the pond!!! 💜💜💜
