Boomdozer's drum are two separate parts so it has a large gap that leak the air,which is why the perforcemance is weak

Very good news on this! It looks absolutely fun with that added oomph. Also, I just realized that this could possibly be modded to have a removable cylinder for quick swapping, so you could in theory have different cylinders for different ammo types ready to go!

Its very interesting how only a 10% fps increase seemed to increase its range by way more than 10%. That one dart that missed looked like it went almost 40 feet when the stock darts could barely go 25.

The FPS upgrade wasn't that big..but the ACCURACY upgrade with a K26 is pretty easy to see..2 out of 6 hits stock on the shield but 4 outta 4 shots to the shield with K26, 1 miss and 1 hit at 25 feet to the target so a total of 5 outta 6 shots hit, and the 6th shot went pretty far before it went down..frame by frame for me it looks like it got near the 50 foot mark before it started to curve and drop..but then again I'm not there so it may have been shorter, still much better than stock as far as accuracy and viable distance goes.

I run it in heavy shotgun configuration, a cloud of 10 half darts is just too much fun

I have a Boomdozer and it is a lot of fun. Mega XL darts are fairly top heavy, so I suspect you can add another 10-20 fps before the darts start to flutter without fins for stability.

this is one of two mods im doing to mine. the other being a shotgun cylinder of either standard mega or full length darts. hunter squads will adore these as primaries i think.

Just a suggestion, if you are going to look at the hyper blasters, consider taking a look at hop-up additions at the same time. I found hop up made a massive difference to my rush 40 to the point it is scarily accurate.

I have this blaster, so I may actually do the nested k25 mod over the winter. I wonder if an XL-sized scar barrel inside that chunky front would help accuracy...

I just did this mod to my new boomdozer, and it did absolutely nothing. He was right, the stock spring almost feels heavier than the k26, and performance difference in both fps and accuracy is within user error of a stock gun. Not worth the hassle and money, especially if you're inexperienced like me.

Massive fan of the K26 series of videos, but can I be really cheeky and ask if you have a full list of what takes a K26? I can then shop for these blasters and if able to get any of them, I will then watch the corresponding video.

I do not. Someone else was compiling said list but I don't know if it is still available. I won't compile said list because then people would not need to watch my videos and I would lose views and thus not have as much money to buy more blasters to make the videos with.

How much heavier are mega xl darts? It may have been a small fps increase, but the momentum is probably way higher.

In retrospect - did you shoot the crappy lighter colored darts the first time that came in the box w many blasters? Or the better darker colored ones the second time? That couldve increased accuracy i believe.

Spring Spacer? Given the low frequency of the Original Spring, and its Weight. I wonder if just adding a spring spacer to it might be better than swapping to k26.

@@CaptainXavier Tried it out using the original spring, plus 11mm of spring spacer precompression gave about 59-64fps (just like the k26) in theory(math calculated) the coil spacing is so wide I could actually go with up to 34mm of spacer and still catch, but didn't want to push the limit given how tough it would be to install still, this does suggest that the original spring -with a weight comparable to a k26 yet much lower frequency, is probably a better spring with more potential -that isn't unexpected, k26 is a general purpose spring, while the original was chosen for foam flinging. I'm sure the designers did their homework when they picked it.

I've never modded a blaster before but I'm getting this blaster soon and was looking to upgrade for the improved accuracy. what length k-26 spring did you use?

If I don't say in the video then I have no idea. At least as long as the stock spring but probably a bit longer. Start longer and if it will not catch then cut 1 coil off. Repeat until it catches.

Horrifically late with this (obviously inexpert) question, but... Has anyone made/sold (or at least seen) a replacement cylinder for the BoomDozer that just gets rid of those little channels along the sides in each dart chamber? I've heard mentioned (I can't remember where or by who) that those channels might reduce the quality of the seal around the darts. Assuming this is actually correct, I have to wonder how much effect (if any) getting rid of those would have on FPS and/or accuracy. For that matter, what about a replacement cylinder that does the same sort of thing the one in the Ogre does? (Built-in scar, I think it is.)

What about removing air restrictors? Would that help the fps or accuracy?

No. It would probably just cause the blaster to break itself.

Been meaning to ask this but work has been taking me main attention for the last few weeks. You mentioned doing some episodes of " CAN IT TAKE a K26" on the hyper line. I have the 2 on the springers blasters that been snift just once and put back in the box.... ans never used again. Would you be interested in having them for said episodes of K26. I have all stock Amman plus another 200 rounds I would definitely throw in?

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, because I don't know if anyone's considered, talked about or discussed it, but: Is it possible that the whistling air holes in the dart are what's causing the low FPS whirlybirding? For a dart that big, the air rushing past could be impacting the aerodynamics, causing it to tilt. Not owning any Mega XL darts, I can't test that, but it's been sitting on my mind for a while

Yes, the whistle is probably what causes the issues, just like with Mega.

Since the recon and the deploy share a similar reverse plunger system would you be able to put in a retaliator direct plunger system (I'm sorry if the answer is an obvious no, I haven't dabbled in modding at all and I'm genuinely curious. That and I love gimmicks and I love the deploy.

Episode 12. And spoiler alert...the Retaliator cannot take k26. You will need to order a specific spring for it. There are lots of springs for it. OutofDarts sells several.

Technically speaking...this does use pneumatics. Pneumatics is the technology of compressed air. This blasters uses a spring to drive a plunger that rapidly compresses air in the plunger tube.
