It's amazing how Eileen is able to touch on every thing we go through during this challenging period of our lives. I don't feel like an oddball anymore and know that what I'm experiencing is normal. I have been to the doctor several times because of these symptoms to find out NOTHING was wrong with me (like Eileen said could happen).

Also Google Power Surge. That article was a life-saver for me! My doctor had no idea and sent me away several times in tears, the hospital did the same (I almost fell over after they had insisted I go home) several times, the top endocrinologist here didn't know and didn't help me. The doctors are USELESS. This lady's post was fantastic - although she could've given more info with regards to getting your hormones tested properly, she's at least got most of it sussed and is helping women from home for free! That's amazing in and of itself ❤

This video makes me feel so much better. I have been pretty good so far @53. I drink alot less caffeine than b4 but during exercise around 20 minutes in I sometimes, not every time, feel like I am working too hard. I am not. So my body is telling me to pause or take a break. I will begin to feel lightheaded if I don't and I get scared as I feel like fainting. This video made me feel so validated.

I get the same thing. I feel like I am dying 2 weeks out of every month. It's like a switch goes on then off just like that! Then I'm on top of the world for 2 weeks. I feel like I just want to give up. I am afraid that menopause is going to kill me. I have no family or friends to talk with just my husband who doesn't understand and thinks I'm nuts. I am 52 and haven't had a period for almost 8 months. I am exhausted and feel like I did back when I was in my teens. I keep getting shingles and psoriasis. (I think its psoriasis).

Hi Genevieve, you may find the acupuncture beneficial too and I would also recommend some Milk Thistle Complex for 2 months. The liver can often get stressed as hormones change and this can affect the skin and nerves and contribute to fatigue and anxiety.

I'm so glad I found this video, thank you, thank you, thank you! I was ready to launch a business I've dreamed about for 15 years on January 1, 2020 but in October of 2019 I hit a brick wall with crazy symptoms all of a sudden. Dizziness, severe anxiety, this feeling of an adrenaline rush (which sounds like a hot flush but I don't feel like I'm on fire), my face gets hot, I'm freezing and need a load of blankets, heart flutters, the overwhelming need to lay down and take a nap? What in the world???? In January 2020 instead of launching my business I get the "yes, you are perimenopausal" with nothing else. No "so this is what we are going to do, this is what you can do, this is what will happen, etc" Just yep, you are, good luck with that. I literally just sent a long message to my Dr after just now having another "episode" and decided, that's it, I've had enough, I need more help than what I'm getting. Your mind goes to crazy places, Am I dying? Do I have diabetes? Am I having a heart attack? Will I wake up tomorrow?. Gracious! LOL This video helped tremendously! Thank you again, I am now a subscriber for sure!

Everything you listed is what I’m experiencing! I’ve been to the doctor and all my lab work cane back normal. My FSH level looked okay too. I’m 48 and still having periods, though they come a bit closer now. I actually feel great when I have my period and then the lightheaded, anxiety, fatigue come back. I take a multivitamin but would love to know if there’s something else I can add like magnesium or iron.

Finally!!!!! So wish I had known this then. This was one of my major symptoms in peri menopause. It wasn't happening when I was getting up suddenly... my blood pressure seemed normal ... I didn't have any neck injury... so my doctor could not confirm a medical reason. It was happening often while I was outside playing in my flowers despite a good breakfast and despite water intake and it was happening at the end of my daily walk. It rarely happens now that I am in menopause. However last time it happened ... I took a few dates (didn't change much) then I took a banana... and it almost immediately felt better - bingo!

Have anyone ever fainted during menopause? I'm trying to figure out why my mother fainted..before fainting she was hot and said she didn't feel good. Next thing you know she was passing out. It was the most scariest thing I've seen ! She was admitted in the hospital they tested her heart, her brain and checked for blood clots they couldnt find the reason why she fainted. It's a mystery I worry it could happen again when I'm not with her and she hit her head or something. btw it was the first occurrence and she is going through menopause.. concerned daughter .😢
@AvogelCoUk
@AvogelCoUk 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lovely Fainting can happen in the menopause and may be due to several factors such as a sudden dip in blood pressure, dehydration, low blood sugar levels or even severe anxiety. It's difficult to say if this will happen again but you can say to her to make sure that she eats little and often (doesn't go long periods without food) and drinks plenty of plain water and that should help. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Sandhyanjali Well done for looking after yourself well, this is so important! Mystery numbness could be caused by postural changes due to falling hormones. Every morning I feel tired, light headed, throughout the morning I feel spinning sensations . Is this related to premenopausal ? How long does it last? I been like this for weeks.
@AvogelCoUk
@AvogelCoUk 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Melinda Dehydration is a big factor here so remember to drink lots of plain water throughout the day and have a small shot glass of warm water just before bed. Low blood sugars can be another trigger so have a good snack mid evening. However, it is important to get this checked by your doctor as well just in case other health issues such as low blood pressure could be a reason. Unfortunately, it is really difficult to say how long this may last as it is different for every woman and can depend on your general health, diet and lifestyle.

I got to the shops or out walking with a friend and I feel drunk and disoriented. It I sit down to have lunch , I almost could fall asleep. If I have lunch then carry on with my walking , I feel drugged again. Last week I happened to have some of a oreo smoothie that my God daughter had offered me - blimey , it took all my stamina to keep myself from slumping to the floor. What is happening to me Eileen ? If it's the low blood sugar thing , then I dont know what to do , cos I have something sugary as suggested and then it nearly knocks me out. If I could lick this , then I would just about have the peri menopause sorted. I know I am not diabetic as I have had 3 tests for in in the last 2 years . Although my GP is crap so who's to say they got it wrong. Or is it all just chronic anxiety ?

Hi Sallyanne It is best to avoid sugary foods as these can cause a big hit and dip of your blood sugars making symptoms worse (an oreo smoothie is probably jam packed with sugar!!) so you may find avoiding these will make a difference. Main meals should contain protein, healthy fats, veg and a small amount of healthy carbs, snacks should focus on protein and healthy fats. Has your doctor tested you for low blood pressure and low iron as these could cause dizziness too? Dehydration can be an issue too so make sure that you are drinking lots of plain water - not sugary drinks or fruit juices. Why not do a food/drink diary, note down everything you eat and drink and when and also when you get an episode of dizziness and if you look back an hour or so you should find if anything you ate or drank or if missing meals or not eating snacks could be the trigger. Meals. Please do check out my videos on blood sugar issues. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/how-menopause-affects-blood-sugar-levels/ www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/sugar-cravings-and-appetite-changes/

Suede Dogs, google non-diabetic hypoglycemic reaction. I get exactly what you described too. It's a frikkin pain in the butt! As if the normal (chronic) fatigue isn't bad enough :( I'm having almost all of the 35 symptoms related to perimenopause. There has to be a reason why we have certain symptoms and imo the hormone deficiencies NEED to be treated with bioidentical hormones. What this lovely lady suggests is very healthy indeed, but I've tried it all and it hasn't improved the way I feel. I try to eat healthy most of the time (it's only the last week that i've started binging a bit - but that isn't normal for me) and I force myself to exercise in some way every single day. I had the B12 injections and an iron infusion but none of it improved my energy levels or the dizziness/lightheadness at all 😟 I'm going to see my functional doctor next week and I'm going to tell her the bioidentical hormones I want to try. You HAVE to be your own doctor through all this as the GP's often have NO idea about the scope of perimenopause symptoms :( I have researched SO much. I've found Dr Northrup's articles to be extremely helpful too :) Good luck. Hope you feel better soon! x

Hi Elizabeth Dizziness can be caused by a number of factors such as low blood pressure or poor insulin control so it is important to get this checked out by your doctor. Best Wishes Eileen

I wonder if menopausal women who are taking the contraceptive pil are having those symptoms too, or if they get through everything much “smoother”. I know one woman who is on the pil, she says she’s feeling absolutely fine. But .... so many risks/eventually serious side-effects involved as well. On the other hand, natural remedies sometimes just do not help enough. Difficult choice.

Hi Yes, it can be a difficult choice, however, many women get through the menopause without HRT and fare very well. All we suggest is that if you are managing OK then there should be no need to take it. Some women do find that when they have to come off it they can get withdrawal symptoms similar or worse to the original menopause ones they had to start with!

Same here. I am 41 who is experiencing dizziness in my perimenopause stage. Mam, I would like to know how long perimenopause stage stays on an average?

It depends on every person but can last up to ten years. Dizziness is actually very common in perimenopause. However, dizziness can have other causes, so it should be properly investigated in case it’s not connected to hormonal changes. It is best to check with your doctor for symptoms like this.

@@AvogelCoUk Mam thank you so much for your reply. Mam, my other factors are investigated and other factors are ruled out. I am having dizziness due to my perimenopause stage confirmed by my family physician.

Hi Rashikala Your skin anywhere can get much more sensitive and also tension can occur in the neck muscles affecting the head. Maybe try organic shampoos and add in a magnesium supplement to help reduce muscle tension. Best Wishes Eileen
