For Me, it was worthy as succesor to the series, if only Shigeno reduced his desire of underage fanservice that would made me more enjoy this series, apart from it I'm enjoying action of Kanata and can't wait for 2nd Season

Small correction: The Lotus Siblings are actually called the Yajikita Siblings, and both of them don't drive Lotuses. Kakeru is the one with the white Lotus Exige, and Nozomi, the girl, is the one with the red Alfa Romeo 4C.

All i want from MF ghost is ONE scene where takumi pulls up with an AE86 and blitzes the fastest antagonist. It would be so hype

MF Ghost makes Wangan Midnight's characters and story seem fleshed out and interesting by comparison, enough said. Also the main race takes 3 entire episodes.

Personally I didn't like it at all lol but I think I've made that clear. I posted a comment on the MFG subreddit the other day where I explained how I would change the series to address what I think the biggest problems are from a story perspective (and I got downvoted lmao) but here's what I would do to make MFG work. The story of MFG just doesn't work because there's not enough room for Kanata to grow as a racer and as a character he's too emotionless and quiet for us to know much about him, but also the search for his dad and why he's even competing in MFG aren't particularly clear at all. There are elements there that could be tweaked to make him searching for his dad more important. Make it so instead of his mother being dead she's still sick so he needs the money from MFG for her treatment. Make him resentful of his dad for running off so he wants to confront him about abandoning his family while his mother is dying. With those changes now we have a strong character motivation, the races actually matter, and Kanata has goals that connect both the races and his personal journey. While we're at it, make Kanata more angry and emotional. We got quiet (though not at all emotionless) with Takumi, so let's have someone more similar to Keisuke as a lead to make it more distinct from ID. I'd also eliminate the "trained by Takumi in a world class racing academy" backstory because it makes him insanely uninteresting because he can just do anything and is capable of everything from the very beginning. Make him a poor kid who learned his skills street racing and is now trying to break into the elite racing class with nothing but raw skill to save his mother's life and he has an extremely hard time keeping up with these high end sports cars. This would also be good because it would feel like us as fans of initial D and street racing are "graduating" to the big leagues, something that was always talked about in Initial D, but with Kanat's family drama and new bolder personality, it also feels a lot more fresh and interesting. At this point you may be saying "this is just a completely different series now" and yeah you're right, because everything I'm changing are elements that make MFG boring. Oh and the angels no longer exist. If they absolutely NEED to exist, Ren is in her 20s now and joined the angels because she loves racing and this was the best way she could think of to be close to the action but ultimately still doesn't like it and Kanata teaches her to drive, she leaves the angels and that's how they fall in love. Also no more qualifying runs. Idk exactly how I'd make that work but ultimately I find qualifying runs really boring and as it is rn they're technically more important than the races themselves, so there should be something else. Maybe he just can pay a fee to enter in so that could add tension that he has to use money he desperately needs for his mother's treatment to gamble himself on a race he has little chance of winning and that can show us how he's fucking insane or something. Which would be endearing and cool when he actually places well. Oh and Sawatari is gone. He doesn't exist anymore.

Unworthy. It relies too much on nostalgia and Initial D without having much substance to stand on its own two feet. It's dissapointing but at least we get eurobeat, I suppose? We should have gotten that Rally sequel that was in the works.

My Personal review: *visuals & graphics: 8/10 *Story : 2/10 *Character : -10/10 *Races : 4/10 (lacks intensity and build up) *Immersion : 4/10 Verdict : Meh as a anime. Shit as a initial D successor.

I like Kouki, but not as a character. He's quite the bad-ass driver (as Season 2 will show) and that's enough to turn the "i only date 17 year olds" into a void. Btw i liked how you didn't say the cookie cutter "shitbox 86 running down Lambos and Ferraris" line, because that didn't happen(in the first race).

To us Americans, it is creepy. (Adult date in a teenager) However, to the Japanese, it's quite normal. Could be normal rest in the world🤔

I watched every episode of MF ghost at least twice, I cannot recall a single event from the entire first series. The show is just that bad that it is entirely forgettable, that tells you everything you need to know.

I agree with many of your points except the races. They are the biggest downside of this anime. Let's consider this in first stage at about the same episodes we had at least three major races. And all of them were high stake ones for example the first race exposed takumi to the thrill of racing, the third against civic was for revenge etc. and all the races were very intense . Now come to this MF Ghost, there was just one real battle and even that didn't feel that intense like compare it to shingo's battle against takumi, no new technique are being used , the focus is constantly shifting from one participant to another, overtakes have no real weight to them. if you want to see what i am talking just go watch first stage.
