For what its worth.. . I was diagnosed in 2007 with MS,. In my past ~1994-2004, i had experimented many times with psychedelics. Starting in 2017 or so i started to loose functionality on my right side, mostly it effects walking and weakness in my arm. When i started to hear about the potential for psychedelics to help with PTSD by helping to establish new neural pathways i decided to try it again to see what would happen. For that one day it had a huge impact on the functionality of my right side, I was able to walk 3.5-4 miles on a sandy beach with little issue, on a normal day i can walk about a mile although i have lots of issues with drop foot and tripping from the first step. Of course on the down side i'm not in great condition to function otherwise. It might make more sense to try micro-dosing to allow me to function more normally. But in the end i think there is potential there. I did find a study going on where they were using MDMA as a therapy but I'm too old now to meet the 40 years old age limit. But i'm still hopeful they will make some progress and maybe i can still share in the benefit of the treatment.

I have exactly the same problem you have. My right side and drop foot. Can only walk about a mile before things get really bad with my walking. I can't run. Maybe 200 meters. I've just heard about this micro-dosing with Lion's mane and niacin (B3) as a catalyst. It sounds promising. I'm going to get my hands on all these and give it a go. Thanks for your post.

Paul Stamets did a series of articles for the Huffington Post several years ago, wherein he discusses several medicinal mushrooms. He’s got a bibliography after each article that references the studies where he got his information. He’s hinted that Psilocybe cubensis might be beneficial for neuro degenerative conditions. Maybe look into his writings?

@@dr.froghopper6711Lion's Mane has definitely made a big difference for me. My leg regained some function after more than 2 years of total paralysis, which has never happened in the 12 years I've had MS. Psilocybe mushrooms are incredible medicine for so many things, and it makes sense that they would help neurological issues. Psilocybin directly increases nerve growth factor, neuroplasticity, and myelination. There are tons of studies coming out to back up what so many already experience. ❤

I'm surprised that docs didn't just assume you have MS, with that symptom profile! I looked into ADEM and I see that it normally goes away on its own...but I assume that hasn't been true for you? I've been taking lion's mane powder every morning as well. What changes are you seeing?

Initially, they thought I had ms, but then said it was Adem. I got the disease very severe unfortunately. They tried using steroids but that didn't work for me. They tried a blood transfusion, that didn't work, so they had to go with chemotherapy and thankfully that worked. The doctor's didn't think I was going to make it but I pulled through. They said I'm a miracle child. I thank Jesus everyday for giving me a 2nd chance at life. I can wiggle my toes a bit and have some sensation all the way down to my toes and can contract some of the muscles in my legs since I've been taking lions mane. I drink it in my tea everyday Oh and my whole body was paralyzed and was in a coma for 3 months. Everything came back except my legs

How are you feeling now? I have vitiligo and hashimoto, maybe some degree of MS but I just assume since it has not been diagnosed. I can't complain about how I feel but I tend to be overstressed, depressed, cant put on weight, etc. Stress affects my gut and I think all starts from there. I don't have gluten or lactose intolerance but I read some studies which say that if you have leaky gut, it triggers the autoimune system. I have tried probiotics in the past and my gut was better while I took them. I will try again for a longer time period and see how it goes. I have also took lions mane and I cant really tell it made a big of a difference. It is also about the positive thinking so with the help of God, through people and scientific advancements we will make it.

I just came across your YT page and was delighted to see mushrooms benefiting neurological patients. I was diagnosed in 1990 at 40 years old and have recently been drinking Primal Herb mushroom teas❤. I never have liked to just eat mushrooms but I really enjoy the teas. Particularly the Reishi and Chaga with a drop of stevia.

I'll have to try the teas. I know it's mind over matter, but when I tried mushroom "coffee" my brain said, "Hey...this ain't coffee. Yuck." But I'm more broad-minded about tea. I do like sautéed/stir-fried mushrooms, but not raw...which turns out to be better, I've read. According to an article in Healthline, "Cooking mushrooms helps degrade agaritine, a potential carcinogen found in mushrooms. Cooking also helps release ergothioneine, a powerful mushroom antioxidant "

At a recent visit to urgent care for yet another UTI I discussed with the doctor symptoms that I had been dealing with from May to September. His reply was you have trigeminal neuralgia, mind you I have seen to neurologists who never mentioned it. I have had the dreaded Ms hug five times during those months. Neither neurologist seem concerned. The doctor that I saw at this visit casually mentioned to me before he walked out of the room, "oh and eat lots and lots of mushrooms"

She claims that even if we can't seem to move a certain muscle, the act of trying it over and over can help our brain find a new pathway: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oaeBl8mh17CyZGw.html.
