Power Rangers Once & Always premieres in three days! April 19th on NETFLIX! I'm very excited, can't wait! Can it please long ago and long time fans? There are those who never made it past MMPR, and those who've seen every single episode through Dino Fury. Long time fans want lots of questions answered, while long ago fans just want to enjoy the nostalgia and wouldn't care about questions being answered from seasons they never saw. My priority for Once and Always are character interactions. Forever Red, To The Tenth Power, Reinforcements from the Future and other good crossovers all had great character interactions. Lore and explanations are secondary imho.

I hope it does good mainly for one reason. So other seasons could possibly have the same treatment. This isn't just for the hardcore fans but the casuals coming back for one shot of nostalgia. I just wish someday we can get something like this for other seasons. You know for the people that did stay and kept watching the rest of the franchise. Like how Sentai does they're 10 (now 20 years) after specials.

Not sure if someone else has said this, but the original American morpher was flipped because in the original pilot, the morphing sequence was different, they pointed the morpher up and out in their right hand, left hand by their side, the right knuckles were pointed up instead of down, thus the morpher toy flip.

Where did you hear that? That's actually the first I'd heard of that. It seems unlikely that toy production would have been based off of the pilot, if that were so it should be Audrey as the auto morphin yellow based on toy production time. Here is the pilot: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iL91rctltavXhKs.html they don't look upside down here. But even if they had been, that should not have resulted in the toy being upside down. I do see what you're saying, but they could still do that morph upside down or right side up.

"Why not assume he's always got'em?" EXACTLY!! What if the Sword of Light copied the powers so that Jason, Zack, & Trini still had them? Also, Adam having the busted Morpher with the MASTODON Power Coin...makes sense considering that it was the Ninjetti Power Coins that were destroyed, NOT the old Dinosaur Power Coins. I'm still holding on to hope that this turns out to be THE best anniversary special (yes, beating both Forever Red & Once A Ranger, because Legendary Battle wasn't great, and Dimensions in Danger was just okay)...the fans need to get a fantabulously AWESOME anniversary special.

I think a reason they could have used for Jason in Forever Red was that it was Rocky's Red Dino coin and morpher that was destroyed. I know it was a 'power transfer' but for a split moment in that episode, there were two Red, Yellow and Black rangers. I always liked the idea that Jason, Trini and Zack could have morphed into rangers at any point, just that they were in a completely different location to Angel Grove and to morph there would risk exposure of their identities. The Turbo movie dismisses this idea I guess, but still. Either way, really great vid Bruno! Enjoyed this one a lot. Keep up the great work

I guess technically it was Rocky's ninja coin that got destroyed... Power Rangers couldn't make their mind up with the coins. The belts still had the dino coins, and Adam's morpher had a Mastodon in the In Space episode, when it probably should have been a frog... yeaaah... not perfect, but for me, it works well enough. It's not a big enough issue that stops me from enjoying the show.

@@MMPRtoys Exactly! There's a lot of small continuity issues that are so easy to ignore because the core content is so enjoyable. I feel blessed we still get to enjoy new PR content 30 years later and get access to new & awesome merch! Excited for Once & Always and maybe (just maybe) I'll be getting to put together my own PR Fan-Film in a couple of years! (This summer is being spent writing it)

I'm just psyched to see the special. Granted, I've watched every season multiple times every consecutive year since MMPR started, so I don't feel the need for much explanation. Though a few nods would be cool (I think your theory about "Robo" Rita is spot-on), maybe even a throwaway line about Billy being happy with a man who understands him would be great. In all honesty I've been counting the days, and I just can't wait to see it. 😁

One thing I don't think you mentioned was that this special appears to have some time jumps in it as well, and the other thing is with the introduction of the morphing grid and the Morphin masters. But yeah I love your videos like this and love seeing the old toys. I don't have any of the original stuff anymore so I really enjoy getting to see them in hand and some of the differences throughout the years. Haha, heck, I'd pay just to have you bust out the old toys and just show them in depth and listen to you talk about them and show the features. Love your channel and really respect your opinions, and appreciate your love and dedication to the series as a whole

Thanks, yes, absolutely covered time travel most of the times I've talked about the special. Rita specifically mentions time traveling in the trailer. I've mentioned time travel, dimensions, Sentinel Knight, Nexus Prism, Ninjor, Morphin Masters... Power Rangers has done all sorts of things. We had an entire season based on magic. There was whatever it was that happened in Dino Charge when the rangers broke the earth with their energems... at this point, pretty much anything can happen and it wouldn't be too out there. We've got more good toy stuff comin' up!

My theory on why the original toy morphers were upside down is because they were based on the original MMPR pilot with Audri Dubois playing Trini. Those morphers were held upside down in comparison to their Super Sentai counterparts. 👍

Power rangers was a 30 minute toy ad, the creators have said so, they’re never gonna answer all the questions hardcore fans want because they don’t care enough to. Just enjoy it for what it is & don’t take it too seriously.

I wanted to see this special so much that I got myself a Netflix gift card for my birthday just so I could see the special while I have been waiting for it I caught up on season 2 of Dino fury that i hadn’t seen cause of not having Netflix and I finished the season today now I have to get through the next 2 days to see the special I started watching when I was 9 and I have been in the fandom all 30 years

I had to agree on the Lightning Morpher being the more screen accurate. Like the original props, they made stickers that Power Rangers but were always cut very thin which the Lightning Morpher managed to adapt on the plates

I meant to post this earlier but KZfaq pushed me to the next video so I ended up posting my comment there (nothing to do with PR lol) I would LOVE magnetic plates that could be swapped out on the morphers. I know changing the plates out with screws isn’t too hard, but it would be so convenient! And especially the damaged morpher and coins!!! I think I need that!!!

I find it quite funny that they clearly used the ZAP toys as a base for the cgi zords, feels like a callback, intentional I hope, to season 2 with the toy power ranger dino zords with the wrong stickers becoming the toy PR version thunderzords during the summoning footage.

Now we all have PTSD that Bruno is going to punch us in the face with a morpher. I doubt they'll explain everything. I'm also not expecting casino levels of acting. But just a nice little epilogue to things that back in the early 90's. It's a shame certain people could be in the special but it seems like they do care. They are putting an effort that seems genuine. The fact that you have Zack working with Rocky and Kat would have been amazing back in the day. As to morphers. I haven't had a chance to get a Hasbro one. I just want a normal one that isn't a walmart exclusive.

I'm still waiting for someone to release a truly screen accurate season 1 Morpher with the missing black lightning pieces. Its pretty clear that when they morph they hold up Morphers without them. Love my legacy Morphers, and i still think Hasbro did a decent job.

If you've got Legacy then you've at least got a screen accurate morpher for the special and some more recent seasons. As for season 1, that's the toy you're seeing, just take the black stickers off. (I think BD15 also makes the "Power Rangers" sticker for that morpher.) I don't think Hasbro will ever perfectly replicate Bandai's toy. That's pretty much what they've already done, they just made it a little bigger and die-cast coins vs plastic. The original Bandai toy was actually pretty cheap, as much as everyone loved it. And it's not even consistent, sometimes they used the American toy out of the box. Jason's morpher in Forever Red has the black bolts. I was just looking at Forever Red, so that's fresh in my head but that's not the only time. It's inconsistent. Easy custom though if that's something you really want.

When it comes to mighty morphin, Jason’s powers he never lost them. The three rangers that got replaced their powers were cloned from the originals. So jason,Zack, and trini all still had their powers

I always followed the theory that during S2 when Jason and the others left, the power transfer made copies of their power coins and Zordon had their coins disconnected from the grid so the new rangers can use them(and yes I know the 3 actors left prior to recording the episodes so they used suit actors and that is why they didn't remove their helmets or were demorphed). Or even after Countdown to Destruction, they could have gotten back into contact with Ninjor to have the coins reactivated. And how about this for Hasbro, for a Power Ranger Haslab, doing say, civilian clothing for teams that were completed? They pick 1 set of clothing for the rangers (MMPR 1 then the additional rangers), Alien, Zeo (this one is personal for me but 3 Trey bodies), In Space, Lost Galaxy, Dino Thunder (once Dr. O/DT black comes out), SPD(we are getting Z soon and can do a little sparkle on a stick for Sam), and Dino Charge. For Tier bonuses tier 1 MMPR command center computer circle for Alpha(I nkow you made your 3d model for them this can be an used for something else), tier 2 figure come with determined face and this being facial a yelling open mouth face(most heads are of the rangers smiling), tier 3... the last tier being Bulk and Skull figures (for all of those in the Hasbro chats who chant for Bulk and Skull Lightning figures).

i'm actually glad that rocky is there instead of Jason so rocky can have more character development especially as a red ranger might not happen because it seems like Zack is doing his job as second in command of the team doesn't matter what will happen in once and always but i will love it. No on/off switch prevented me from buying Lightning Collection Dragon Dagger(even though I love the light up feature and the Dragonzord roar) Seriously, I love electronics in toys, but I don't like it when I can't save battery power, without removing the batteries completely. As for Once and Always, I too am excited for it, but I also want it to be good. Since Power Rangers as a brand, has had its ups and downs in each season. And yes, I watched the other seasons and not just Mighty Morphin. But I still like in-universe explanations for everything. Not just: "they're here for fanservice".

What I find funny is that Hasbro basically admitted that the Legacy Morphers are better. Otherwise, you use the toy that you also sell

It really surprises me that they went with the Bandai toy when they have their own. I don't think anything was admitted, better is subjective. If you want a weathered look, go with Bandai's. If you want one that looks more like the original, go with Hasbro's. Either would have worked. But, as far as a morpher like Bandai's go, I don't know how you really top that w/o just selling the same thing Bandai already did.

@@MMPRtoys I just mean that when a toy company ISN'T selling their toy, it actually speaks volumes. Maybe it was done because legacy morphers were used as props previously and it's simply a continuity thing, but this is a toy commercial and they're selling a competitor's toy. Granted, it's probably a calculated risk that normies will just buy the lightning morphers as they're more available. End of the day, it don't matter, I just thought it was funny.

Though, Hasbro's version isn't really for sale at the moment, outside of the non-screen accurate yellow version. There could be a reason behind that choice, and it could have just been what they had in the prop dept and nobody really thought about it. Stranger for sure.

If you really want screen accuracy, you would remove the black stickers. The morphers didn’t have them for some reason haha

6:19 It really depends on what shot you're trying to be screen accurate with. If you want Forever Red, you need the black stickers for Jason saying it's morphin time. The black stickers are present 6:21 on the morpher plates that Jason's inside of while morphing, but the morpher Jason's holding does not have them. They had so many versions, from the American toy right out of the box, the Japanese toy, black bolts, no bolts, resin copies, US modified stickers... I guess just pick whichever your favorite was. Bandai's Legacy has the black painted, which appears on TV, making it screen accurate, and Hasbro's is painted, not stickers. You could paint the black silver if you wanted.

@@MMPRtoys It doesn't even matter anymore because they've used the Legacy Morphers on screen so many times now that they ARE screen accurate! Used in Ninja Steel, Beast Morphers and now this. Didn't they also use them in a Sentai show or movie with the Zyuranger red ranger? I love that I got one of each back when they came out. Wish I'd gotten a third one to make a Master Morpher ... but hindsight and all that!

I think they shouldn’t need to explain everything that happened during the gap years because too much exposition can ruin a plot. Besides, the sentai films seem to do a good job just doing a reunion special without giving 10+ years of “where are they now?” I really hope this is the first of many PR anniversary specials that are self contained but also fit into the wider canon in the same way that Sentai films work. Time will tell. I still haven’t seen the trailer for Once & Always though 😂 I plan to just enjoy it regardless of any critique I might have.

Admittedly back in the day, I only barely watched up to Season 2. It was only when they announced the 2017 movie that I went back and re-watched every season starting from MMPR up to the current series. I can't wait to see Once & Always.

They did make Trini a lesbian in 2017 film for some reason. They should have left Trini alone as there is only one. I think bringing in her daughter is the better way to honour her.

Well technically the power coins were clone after Jason did the power transfer Rocky something happened where they didn't transfer the powers they just clone them and the original Power coins were not destroyed it was the Ninja Power coins the original Power coins were damaged in the power surge when Rita's brother destroyed the thunder zords the power surge damaged the original Morphers and coins when Adam came back he is using the damage morpher and coin so technically the Rangers still had their powers they just didn't know that but using the damaged Morpher is dangerous because it inflicts pain on the user and could kill them unless they repair them somehow

It will be awesome but it won't please everyone. This should have been done during Super Megaforce. But Saban dropped the ball! Even in the unlikely event that JDF is somehow in the special not seeing the remainder of the original team hurts. Knowing that Forever Red is the last time we got to see Jason and Tommy on screen together, and the last time them and Kimberly were on screen together was the Turbo movie really sucks.

I'm not letting "tad" ruin things for me. It well exceeds "good enough." If they were going to fix something, I'd start with making the lens the right color. Overall they did a good job on that though.
