In this first entry of 'Is it all lies' we're taking on the Pokémon series and breaking down it's name to it's least helpful and most literal interpretation, to decide if those pesky game developers have played us for fools once again. So let's find out of these Pokemon really do fit in a pocket, before Game Freak make it even more difficult to do with more DLC like the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra!
Backseat Game Development is a channel that harnesses the power of someone with no experience in game development to meddle with the work of actual industry professionals. Love your editing style and how you give over information! The randomness of the topic reminds me of Polygon's "Unraveled" with Brian Gilberg. He has his own personal channel, it would really cool if you guys did a colab together

Generally when I see a video on a concept that's already been done to death I just keep scrolling. But I saw Backseat Game Dev and I thought "alright, he's gonna do something with this, I'll give him the shot". I don't know how but you always manage to take such bland concepts and turn them into genuinely interesting content, keep it up man

I think I heard somewhere that Flareon could control its temperature so it could be the perfect temperature for hugging for example. With that in mind I think Flareon would pass the test of safety, but it wouldn't pass any other test anyway.

- Talks about avoiding animal cruelty - Starts suggesting kidnapping and forcibly ripping apart pokémon to make them smaller or lighter, putting them in the pocket face first, making them underweight, or stunting their growth.

With Pokémon Legends Arceus coming out and saying every Pokémon can shrink down to fit into your pocket, this greatly helps the Pokémon that are either too big and/or too heavy.

Objection! Flareon can and *will* be put in the pocket! The pokedex entries say that it's body temperature *can* reach to upwards of 3000F BUT according to the pokedex entries from pokemon diamond and beyond it states that flareon has a heat sack and that flareon can control when and how much temperature it can give off up to 3000F so it can choose to give you a lil more heat in case you're cold too! Flareon is perfect and I will accept no other alternatives.

Nidoran and other Pokemon with barbs, but who are big enough that the head can be kept out of the pocket were fine. Problem with Weedle is it’s a wriggly little fella who would undoubtably accidentally get a trainer as it writhes around. Psyduck was an edge case but I decided to allow it, didn’t have time in the video to go over it. 🙂

I think that safety should not matter because it does not promise that you or the Pokémon will survive. So maybe that will change the results

I love these choices of music for the background. Danganronpa music is blessed. Edit: further into the video and it's not just DR. Mario Sunshine and PERSONA MUSIC I can't handle how slick this all is. The aesthetics of everything here are amazing. I also still really like how all of this information is organized in the video itself.

I know most people here seem to be talking about the aesthetics, but I also love the style of humor you use. There's just something about taking things to such a serious level that it winds up funny gets me. It's like what Game Theory and some of the other shows the channel hosts *wanted* to be. * porygon battle * porygon used program!(i dont think thats a move but whatever) opponent's trainer used USB stick.(pokemon still has a move) Vaporeon used water gun! the usb stick with porygon inside got blasted with water and got electrocuted! you lose!
