Succulents have managed to evolve in places where many other plants cannot survive. But the adaptations necessary to survive have happened over many, many years.
These days succulents are grown in climates very different to those where they are endemic to. And the adaptations they have develop can sometimes cause issues.
In order for them to survive we need to adapt the environment for them and they also have to acclimate to their best ability.
In this video, we'll have a look at different environments succulents can acclimate/acclimatize to and to what degree it is possible.

I would LOVE to spend a day just walking around her fabulous collection. My mother has an equally fantastic yard full of succulents, orchids, tropical plants, fruits, vegetables, etc. LOTS of appreciation and envy . ❣ This channel and host is wonderful!!

I do that a lot too and it's becoming a problem- i need to work more and look at my plants less 😅😅 It may be possible one day though as i'm working towards getting back on a big property and build a mini botanical garden that would be open to public 🌵🌲🌺 Would love to see our mums garden 💚

Thank you 🙂 It can get a bit difficult as there is not that much science yet on succulents but the research that does exist is fascinating. I believe there will be more soon though as there's a lot of interest in how to take advantage of succulence and apply to crop plants 💚

Thank you for this information. For the "related research links" the third and fifth ones are the same but broken (incomplete) links. The fourth link doesn't work because it requires a Login that I don't have. Maybe put the title of the research paper. Cheers.

My apologies- i've now fixed the link and the article that required a login should also work now without a need for account.

The problem with Black Prince & Black Knight is that you can’t tell that they’ve rotted until it’s too late due to their dark colour. I’ve said goodbye to both of those ones over the past few years. Another really informative video. Thank you 😊

You are so right, the colour does make it difficult😅 I only now have a couple of these left and am not going to propagate any more. They are gorgeous but not worth the hassle 🥲
