As the AP weeks are coming I want to wish all of you taking history exams the best of luck! Youre definitely in the right place if youre looking to study. I watched all the topic videos, took notes on his videos along with following the Course and Exam description, and I somehow got a 5 on the APUSH exam last year! It is definitely possible, and I owe a huge part of my success to Heimler. Thank you for all you do!!!

This is technically your latest video so I'll leave it here... Mr. Heimler I first wanna say thank you for all of the content you have shared. I took the APUSH exam today and have never felt anymore prepared for an exam after tuning into your 90 minute livestreams that went over units 1-9. They were all informative and easy to understand, ultimately helping me prepare for the test in the morning. Of course during the test I did forget a couple things but I watched another video of yours that explained one way to remember things is to create a timeline in your head of events that happened and that helped me a lot as I was panicking on the SAQ and the LEQ. Here's hoping to get a 3/4 based off of this. Please keep up the great job for the future students, there is real merit in what you do for the people you cannot see. Thank you and good luck to everyone else with there exams!

Thanks so much for all of your content. I have learned so many great things from you and I know they will all help me on my APUSH test this week. I share your tips with all of my friends who are looking for ways to study. I send them all to your videos because they are so helpful. Seriously, thank you for your dedication to what you do! You help explain stuff in a way that makes it easy to understand and it’s never just random nonsense. Everything you use in your videos can actually be used on the exam and I appreciate that because I don’t have to sort through what information I need to be taking out of the video like some other history teachers on KZfaq. Your dedication to helping students with their AP tests is amazing! Thank you so much!!🙏

When you source a document do you need to link it back to your argument ie the G.I bill was made after the Great Depression where many couldn't get jobs, and after WWII where returning veterans might've had a hard time assimilating back to American society and living in the changed American lifestyle after the war. Or would you need to add something like, America was only able to do this because of the economic prosperity given by the mobilization of the economy going into WWII.

From a person who got a five on Whap and probably a five on apush this year, a good strategy is to take about an extra fifteen minutes on the dbq, and then finish the leq quickly. This is because the extra time will allow you to do better on the dbq, which is worth more points. I don’t recommend this to everyone, but I’m just saying it’s a possible strategy which worked for me. Good luck everybody.

People should keep in mind that there many ways and tips to earn almost every point while being able to finish the DBQ on time: 1. there is no conclusion paragraph required, just a one sentence restatement of the thesis will do, this will only risk the complexity point but if you have enough time 2 - 3 sentences would work for a concluding paragraph 2. sourcing a document can count as evidence, so you can knock down the sourcing and evidence points at the same time 3. this is not a literature essay, so evidence can be introduced and explained simply and quickly in 2 - 3 sentences 4. a counter argument does not need to be emphasized on, address it in the thesis and leave it alone unless you have plenty of time for the complexity point

I’ve got a question. I like to split dbqs into 2 arguments and throw 6 documents into 2 paragraphs, for a total of 4 paragraphs (intro 2 bodies and conclusion sentence). Do you think this could hurt my score in comparison to another argument and another body for a total of five paragraphs? Also, Heimler is the goat Heimler > Tom Richey
@danieloops8031
@danieloops8031 Жыл бұрын
no the amount of paragraphs doesn't really matter. If you score contextualization point (1) Thesis (1) Body paragraph examples and explain (2 ) sourcing (1) outside evidence (1) and (1) for complexity. that should be 4 paragraphs if you split it into two groups especially since we only have 60 min. But i can see a case where someone who can split their points into three groups can earn complexity, since it might show they have a better understanding of history. But other things like Just 2 pieces of comparison could earn you contextualization, just need to show you understand the basic concept
