Well interesting bur I'm a not very convinced. Nft tends to increase the ultracomsumerization which we have already enough in our day to day life... The economic way Nft are made doesn't seems sustainable and I am not even talking about the environmental aspect of crypto...

And you should check deeper about "environmental friendly" because this is still very energy power angry. Using renewable that we don't even have enough to produce for normal use is clearly not a sustainable way to do this...

The gas for the purchase (the transaction cost on ethereum) is almost as high ($80) as the current nft cost ($100). It makes purchase of an inexpensive nft much less attractive. I would have to sell my purchased nft for $200 after the addition of the gas and the royalty just to break even. Hmm, have to think more about this. I like #10 for me. Thanks for the great intro to purchasing of an nft. One day I'll do it!

Just read an article that explained NFTs and others were considering dropping gas fees and moving those fees, at a lower rate, into other areas. I'll try to keep you updated as I see/hear more. . ~Alexa Shaw, Subscriber

Thanks for the very interesting video, Micael! Just a thought: Should your collection fail to sell as expected (a low probability outcome, I know :) ), it may STILL be a question of price. You know how art works sometimes: people will buy stuff just because it's expensive. So combining your beautiful raindrop pictures with a handsome price tag could actually do the job, who knows! And a quick question: How important is the concept of collection for selling NFTs? Do you think selling indivudual photos is less of a recipe for success than selling a themed collection of photos?

Thanks for the video Micael. When you mint your first NFT, what kind of pricing should you set? Shout it be fixed or an auction? What would you set the initial price at? Thanks.

I don't think it is wise to set an auction. Nobody has time or patience for these. I would recommend starting with a very low price, until you start selling. Then very slowly raise prices as you create new collections. I started my prices at 0.03 ETH per photo, I felt that was cheap but still a reasonable price for me. I have now sold 17 out of 50 pieces in the collection in the first 2 weeks with this price.

@@MicaelWidell Thanks much. Do you need to mint all the NFT for a collection and then release simultaneously for sale? I.e. let's say I want a collection with 40 photos. Do I need to first create all 40 photos and then start the sale? Or can I put one or two first and then see how it goes before minting more NFTs?

@@NikhilShahi No on Opensea it is very flexible. You can add photos as you go along, you don't need to finalize the collection from day 1. You can also delete photos that aren't yet sold.

Are NFTs generally sold as collections or is it possible to sell Individual images?

Both are common! On Opensea, collections are most common, and on other platforms like Foundation and SuperRare it is more popular with 1/1 work.

That contract seems impossible for me to find on Open Sea. Any additional information on how that all works, would be helpful.

Great contribution about the NFT thing. I don't agree with you at the economic concerns. For me this eco arguments, especially with bitcoin, are spread out to keep the ordinary people out of the independent crypto currencies on the rise. The guys who are printing, or better calculating, fiat money like hell nowadays don't want independent, decentralized money I think. Remember; money rules the (material) world. ;)

I don’t remember exactly but it was like $150 - but that is a one time fee that you never have to pay more than once - then you can create as many NFTs as you want.

NFTs have been in a low bear market since the stock markets crashed in the beginning of the year. Currently it is very very hard to sell NFTs if you aren’t already a big name.

The answer is yes, I am one of them. I made about 2 ETH within the first 24 hours of minting my first forest photography collection. I had literally 2 followers on twitter and only 3k on Instagram at the time.
