Brewer fan here. Wow. So many hosts called it quits on the podcasts for the break. You guys didn't. But, just because you guys are producing at a high rate, doesn't mean the Cubs are on your level, lol. Love your enthusiasm and really looking forward to the 3 game series between the Cub and Crew in Chicago. I'm hoping Murphy can highlight his skils versus the highest paid manager in the big leagues. We'll see. Edited to say the only other locked on host to give actual letter grades to the players was the Padres host, lol.

Every player is streaky. It’s just glaring when everyone is on a down streak for an extended period of time.

Soto started for the NL in 08 along with Fukudome. Soriano's homer was in 07 to make it a 1 run game in the 9th. He made it in 08 but didn't play because of a nagging injury.

I really like the pitch challenge system...no more complaining with umpires from batters(just tap your helment and watch the big screen like tennis), and will help with crucial called 3rd strikes and missed strikes (to be fair, some pitches are spinning ridiculously across the zone at high speeds)

I’m not impressed by Morell hitting 2 hrs when we are winning the game anyway. What I want is for him to hit safely when we have bases loaded, 2 outs and we are down by 1 run. That is more important than 2 hrs.

Love the show. How does a guy barely hitting over the Mendoza line get a C minus? I just don't understand the way players are judged today. .202 is an F, always has been and always will be. Let's go to the opposite field, raise the batting average 40 points, despite any power loss, and now we are talking.

They were 25-19 on May 16. Thats the first 6 weeks of the season. They fell apart for the next 6 weeks. Injuries had a hand in them falling apart, along with the offense disappearing. Knowing that they've played good ball for half the season, so far........how can you not say they can get back to it?

When the Cubs started their hot streak, to answer Sam's question. My eyes were rolling. "of course NOW they're winning". I'm very happy to see the Cubs play great baseball. However I still have a bitterness and untrusting feeling right now. I still feel like the only reason they started playing well is because the pressure was completely off. And when they are back in the race, they'll choke again. When it comes to this team and last years team? I'm in VERIFY only mode. Meaning, no trust, SHOW me you can actually play good BBall when it matters.

I would not bank on it. There is a drop off in the bottom of the rotation. Jed demoted the most intriguing pen arm. And Morel is still in the line up every day regardless of his results. The will to win is far less than doing the motions with this team.

Hoerner was lost in the middle of the order. Best speed (who can get on base). Still cant understand Happ leading off earlier in the year.

No way that Boog is 9th best in MLB. Radio team sure but our TV is called like a national game with no fire for “their” team.

As I'm sitting here watching this all-star game, it saddens me that the Cubs are a big market team and don't have any of these generational talents or all-stars (position players). Some of these teams have two or three.

The second wildcard isn’t good enough to run away from the others. It’ll be somewhere around 500 if Swanson and Happ hit the Cubs will stay in it and have a legitimate shot at the end if they don’t, they’ll fade late August.

I vaguely remember Dave Kingman having some kind of a Home Run contest against Mike Schmidt back in maybe 1979 or 1980 or so. Pretty sure Schmidt beat Kingman handily.

Hopefully Happ keeps it up, but I’m not optimistic. He’s the most streaky hitter in baseball. If he doesn’t, please move him down in the order before he kills us in key situations. I’m also not sure what to do with Morel, his defense quite frankly, is not good and he either hits homers or nothing(just like Wisdom). Need to bring up some kids if these guys don’t pick it up.

Morel gets an D. He would get an F, but he leads the team in HRs. By himself he has cost the CUBS 3-5 wins with all of his defensive errors at third. That one game with Steel pitching. He made two errors in one play! Still young, but if the Cubs ate still trying to make the playoffs, he should just DH or pinch hit in the second half.

Can the Cubs continue their current trend? The answer is simple. IF they get a closer? Yes, they can. IF they don't get a closer? No, they cannot.
