In the 867 start date, the most powerful dynasty by far are the Karlings! With 36 living members, controlling ALL of the Western European mainland, as well as being incredibly rich and powerful, the Carolingian dynasty rules their world with an iron fist! But come 1066... and there's only one remaining! None other than Count Herbert IV, the last landed man of House Karling!
The future looks bleak for this once great dynasty... But what if ONE MAN tried to SAVE and REVIVE his dying dynasty? Can one determined and ambitious Karling, a master of Diplomacy and romance, SAVE THE MOST POWERFUL CRUSADER KINGS 3 DYNASTY? Only one way to find out, so sit back, get a cold drink and enjoy this CK3 Dynasty Revival challenge!
In this video, Koifish will attempt to use Diplomacy and Dynasty Building strategies to restore the dwindling Karling Dynasty! That includes all of the Cadet houses as well! I will be using all the tips and tricks and strategies that I went over in my Lifestyle guide series, mainly focusing on Intrigue and Learning! I'm also playing with all the current DLC, Including Northern Lords, Royal Court and Fate of Iberia, as well as Tours and Tournaments and Legacy of Persia!

In reality, Count Herbert did not pass the land to his son, but rather to his son-in-law, King Philip's brother, Prince Hugues, who was married to Adela, Herbert's daughter. This created the cadet house of Vermandois. Unfortunately, Eudes, Adela's brother, was disinherited, and that marked the end of the story for that Karling house. It's sad to see, but it does happen to the best of us.

House Vermandois is interesting too. Many MANY Herberts. Like a stupid number (I know people make fun of Loius for there bring a lot of Louis but in history it was super common to name your son after yourself. My step dad's family is basically all Michael's going back to the 13th century, it's wild)

I actually did this one myself recently. Stayed French and catholic throughout the playthrough. Ended up mending the Schism before restoring Rome and then just let it run until 1453

There should be an achievement and decision by taking out the Karlings in the 867 start date. I practically conquer Europe or the Steppe. I do it with a Serer custom character every time I play or conquer the Maygars and then move them to Britannia and help the conquer it all.
