I know the Skull Merchants perks generally are not great but I have been getting good use out of Game Afoot on the Knight. The Carnifex breaks the pallet so fast and its over for them.

I gave Skull Merchant a go because of rift challenges, and I discovered that I really enjoy playing as her. She's become my go-to for a "casual" game, if I'm in the mood for it.

how does devour hope stacks work? like do they stack on one totem then are locked on a certain stage if the totem is gone or do they apply to 1 then 2 then 3 totems?

There is 1 totem that get all stacks. And it dosen't matter if you have 1 or 5 stacks, if totem is gone every effect is gone

@@wheatley3571 No it isn't. Like yeah, you can't just place a drone on a gen and build up exposed for free anymore, but the drones are still an oppressive zoning tool that can be used to effectively patrol gens.

All I was saying is that you can still use 3-genning and have the power actually contribute to the lockdown, I never mentioned the counterplay one way or the other. That’s purely a presumption on your part. Why don’t you use your ears next time instead of just looking at things as black and white and at face value.

No it isn't. If it were a perk that gave an increasing amount of slower healing the more survivors that are already injured, it would be. Leverage by contrast just gives slower healing after hooking survivors, with the slowdown going up for each hook. Thing is, by the time the slowdown is anything substantial, you've already won the game because everyone's on death hook or dead already. It has nothing to do with how many survivors are injured at any given moment. Nor is the slowdown based on how many survivors are healthy either, if you want to talk polar opposite of desperate measures. Desperate Measures is a great perk. Leverage is not.

How to play Skull Merchant Place drone at loop: If survivor stays at loop they get injured then hindered. If survivor leaves and there is no close tiles, you get a free hit or down. It’s that simple Otz did a game showing that off in the stream with Skull Merchant. It doesn’t matter how good you are. Skull Merchant removes any chance at running one loop and forces you to chain tiles if you have any

Just because other killers also give survivors no gameplay options besides leaving a tile and predropping a pallet doesn’t mean that skull merchant is well designed. People hate those killers and they hate SM too, it’s boring.

All of that while trying to avoid the free drone hit in a massive radius that you hope your teammates are deactiving right next to your chase and hoping you can find a pallet or strong loop. K......

Otz also said and showed off in stream that she's incredibly easy to win against and the only reason people lose against her is because most survivors don't know how to versus her. If you DC/give up against her you either are stubborn and won't learn how counter her or you have no skill, quite frankly

Skull Merchant is definitely my favorite killer. I only have around 400 hours in DBD, so I'm not the best and I didn't want to buy her for a long time, because my friend told me that everyone hates her, but at one point I just watched some videos about her and I fell completely in love with her. Definitely the most fun I've had in DBD until now.

i swear skull merchant mains are oblivious to how unfun and stupid her power is. it has too many effects for how many drones she has, making it way too easy to shut down a loop by simply placing a drone. you get haste AND you hinder the survivor so youre basically handed a free speed boost, just because a survivor couldnt crouch or theyd get hit. such a bad design and she just needs a complete rework.

From a skully main, I don’t think she needs a COMPLETE rework, but a few changes would help make playing against and as her better. I think a cooldown after recalling a drone would help make hacking drones more impactful, and she can’t just spam a new one at every loop. I’m also fine getting rid of the hinder :) At the end of the day skull merchant is a trap based killer, and her traps should be punishing for survivors. However, punishing should not mean uncounterable

@@mikeeeehawkkkkk exactly, in addition I think a cooldown will actually allow more skillful play on her part. A cooldown will reward players who are able to effectively resource manage and ensure they always have a few on hand for the next chase, as opposed to those who weren’t paying attention and would suffer a cooldown when entering a chase. Additionally skully would also have to think ahead and see if she’d rather recall a hacked drone and suffer a cooldown or allow the hacked drone to come back on its own

@@Zenzei842I mean, she really isn’t much of a trap killer though, she kinda just slaps em down, you don’t need to set up anything like trapper or hag, and they also kinda just disable an entire tile. Plus she has this OP ability to turn all the survivors into bots which especially needs a rework.

They all, in my opinion, share the same core of setting their powers down in optimal locations in which survivors get punished for triggering them, but survives can disable them as well
