Several sources claim that the Late Fall Oyster mushroom (Sarcomyxa serotina) contains carcinogenic compounds. Should we be worried?

Thanks Adam. Besides exposing hearsay about this mushroom as fabrication, the best thing about this video (to me) is that it's worth doing some research before blindly believing rumor and gossip. Our country is in the mess it's in because people blindly believe without questioning. Another fine video, sir.

Steve W An excellent comment you made here but I would ADD that the country and WORLD are in the position we're in because NOT ONLY blindly believing without question but also REFUSING to change OURSELVES. The toxic foods and home products as well as toxic clothing and body products, not to mention the AIR and WATER are all so toxic to us and the environment but WORSE YET is that people REFUSE to change their OWN habits, including supporting the very companies or groups they yell out about. So many massive corporations are even selling Organic foods yet they also sell GMO to whoever will buy the lie. I don't consider these to be caring people, only out to hit as many targets as possible wherever people are at. Anyway, I loved your comment but wanted to mention this.. THE FOOD LIES are what ALLOWS US ALL to be so uncaring, docile and/or very sick. The FOOD LIES are what controls all the world's populations and attitudes. What bacteria come NATURALLY with EVERY food has its own consciousness and NEEDS and they put out SIGNALS to our brains. The signals from meat and dairy bacteria are so aggressive and on the hunt. If you try to go without and don't know how they operate, one feels like they're just going to DIE! if they don't have this or that. All bacteria give signals but the meat.. the aggression and competition and suspicion.. then add all the starches and processed sugars and acid forming foods of all kinds and you have a chemical cocktail of Nature and Man, warring inside as we too are warring inside ourselves as a species and as a Soul. Anyway, I could go on and on but I'll spare you, LOL. I PERSONALLY am going through detox and natural healing after 54 years of medical and emotional suffering, due to continual illness and pain FROM BIRTH. It's been a VERY interesting but difficult ride. I wish you well Steve. I'm happy I read your comment. it's contemplative for me, especially in my situation. *Blessings and Gratitude!*

@@ExtremeSurvivor_1 great insight. Many people are afraid of change not knowing that nature can provide us with food and medicine. This has been given to us by God to be enjoyed by its entirety. Man tends to change things for profit and greed knowingly. Society projects that we are to depend on the food markets and mans way of life. Sadly through mans ignorance , we miss out what God has given us through His love for us . I love your comments. May God bless you.

@@scottkers.4225 Hello Scott! Thank you for your wonderful comment. It is true, in my opinion, that most all people have totally forgotten God's promise.. The birds of the air, fishes of the water and beasts of the land are all provided for FREELY, how much MORE has been provided to us FOR FREE? We're the only species who cook and destroy our food or are eating foods not designed for us naturally. Even our pets, our precious friends, are so sick and weak. It's a racket but not just for profits. Humanity is affectively under control by buying the food lies, eating meat and dairy, grains and legumes. We're a Frugivore species and should have MOST all of our diet as fruits, berries or melons. It's all such a shock, like all the OTHER lies we've been taught for eons. It's a Spiritual battle Scott, either way. For as long as we're POISONED and mind affected, we can not receive our Natural communications. My BIGGEST SHOCK came when I understood that the WILD PLANTS, fruits, roots and all are so highly loaded in nutrients, but also the Spiritual connection, coming through the plants who EAT LIGHT which is filled with information. The original wild plants still have all their DNA and receivers in tact where store or cultivated decades or longer is weak, dumbed down and unhappy. It's not much better than pinned cows. Anyway, sorry I go on.. there's SO MUCH to all of this.. and... It's so fascinating. I'm about to open my new YT channel dedicated to healing by NATURE. It'll be called, "Wild Crafting for Life - Healing by Nature" where I'll be reporting on my reaction to Dr Morse's herbs and my healing protocol plus Wild Crafting/Foraging and whatever else the Creator puts on my Heart. I'm nervous but EXCITED. Thank you for giving time to communicate with me 😁😎🤗 Have a Blessed Day 🙏😇

@@petset77 Why I say food lies are number one is because everyone has to eat, including the warriors who are sent to kill each other and the mega corporations and everyone in between. These foods keep us from thinking properly, feeling good or using our higher awareness to contemplate our future actions, how we treat others and what we're doing to blindly follow orders. Once we clean out toxins and load up on RAW, living foods, the electromagnetic energy ALONE feeds us far more than nutrition, it feeds us power, energy and INFORMATION. There are so many people now awakening to the manipulation that it's only a matter of time before the gig is up.. but in the meantime, we're going to have to CHOOSE to rise above their manipulation if we truly desire freedom. Thank you for your reply!! I greatly appreciate it!😁😊 Have a Superb and Blessed Day 🌈🌟

This reminds me of the debate over pyrrolizidine alkaloids that can be isolated in certain plants often used in herbal medicine. It seems that whenever trace amounts are detected then the entire use/edibility of that species is thrown out without so much thought put into the realistic dosage or exposure that one would have.

Here’s a fun fact: In the technicality that you stated towards the end, all veggies are also *technically* carcinogenic in that regard as well. Plants can’t run from or fight their predators, so the only way that many plants can defend themselves is with toxins to discourage eating them. Yes, this includes your veggies. It’s thanks to our bodies that managed to adapt and tolerate these toxins that we’re able to eat any plants in the first place.

This is one of the many reasons I love your videos! You did the research instead of taking what other people say or think and proclaiming it as truth. Hats off and my thanks to you for the lesson!

Everywhere on the internet on gardening sites "experts" claim that elephant garlic is actually a leek or closer related to leeks than a garlic. I went to great effort to find out if this is a fact. It is not but folks continue to parrot this inaccuracy. That's the problem with information on the internet. False claims get replicated as if they are truths and it is almost impossible to stop it. Great video as always! Thumbs up and if I could i'd subscribe a second time.

Well done, I expected this to a hit piece on mushrooms. I came here ready to avidly defend these amazing creatures, but was pleasantly surprised! You did a wonderful job of presenting your findings and I love how you pointed out the dosage of compounds and other compounds present makes all the difference with anything labelled "toxic/carcinogenic" . Needless to say your dedication to truth and knowledge has earned you another subscriber!

Dude, you're awesome. Many people would have just said, "not sure so be careful", but you go an extra ten miles for your sub's, and go out of your way to get the answers. This is why I sub to your channel. I get all the facts, and I feel safe with your information.

Thanks for this video! While doing my id research on this mushroom, I came across an article citing a 2013 Japanese study after Fukushima that showed this mushroom to contain more radioactive substances than other mushrooms growing nearby. Perhaps this 'carcinogen' misconception has to do with the mushroom's elevated capability of absorbing whatever's in the substrate, rather than any compounds naturally occurring in the mushroom itself. I myself just found this mushroom on a walk today - and now I'm gonna eat it! :) Cheers! (love your channel btw)

Adam, you're my number one go to man for all my fungus info videos! Keep Rockin. Another suggestion/ idea to incorporate into your vids: put up the chemical compound names and symbols as you go through beneficial properties of the fungi. Thanks again! Your neighborhood in eastern Ohio....
