I think the series needs some clear direction. The mechanics and ideas were great, but often the setting and narrative seemed very lackluster.

In 2015 once it became clear Metal Gear was dead they should have taken the Phantom Pain formula and applied as much as they could to Splinter Cell.

Splinter Cell is in dev at Toronto since 2020. 5 years, I'm pretty sure it's a 2025 game. Plus, I think Beyond Good and Evil, regardless what type of game it is, I'm betting on 2025. Ubi are doing 2 big games a years + random services.

Splinter Cell - set in the R6 universe: Sam, codename Zero, takes on a terrorist threat with the assistance of R6 leader Harry Pandey. They’d make such a great Snake/Otacon pairing.
