Brother. You need to try Bont's (I recommend the Vapor S ). You can mold them multiple times until your get the right fit. It appears that you have a very unique foot. Custom might even be your BEST option. Like you I have been through MANY brands with no luck, until I found Bont. I went Wide size 46. Heat molded them about 3 times and bang!! Much luck to you.

Thanks. I did try the Bont Helix (still have them) and moulded them several times, but the sides were just too hard and stiff and pressed on the sides of my toes.

Run Shimano and had the same pain in the same area. Fixed it with shims. Now that I’m level, my foot isn’t being forced against the wall of the shoe.

Good to know, although my issue seems to be around the wide part of my toes, meaning lack of space on both sides, so not sure if shimming would work.

Surprised by the weight. They look lighter. What size shoe did you get and what is your feet measurements (length and width)?

What do you do with $250 shoes when the heel pad bumper wears out? Is there some replacement that can be rigged up?
@CyclespeedTours
@CyclespeedTours 5 ай бұрын
Some of these shoes have replaceable heel pads, and even if not, pretty sure you could fabricate something yourself. But personally, by the time that happens, some amazing new shoe has come out and I tend to buy that!!

@@CyclespeedTours I bought the shoes today. Like you said, I’ll figure out something. Here in Thailand they cost about $140. Thanks for your reply!

Icebug slim insoles (the yellow ones) solved my hotspot issues in the sworks torch. My custom molded specialized and stock insoles were creating numbness and hot spots

@@CyclespeedTours I've tried Solestar, custom molded, Birkenstock active, Sidas, G8.... For my hot spots and numbness the Icebugs worked best. They have a much more pronounced metatarsal pad towards the front of the foot and are also the thinnest of all the insoles I’ve tried

They're very good! I still use the S Phyre more, just because they are quicker to get on and off. But the Udog look nice, are light and also aero.

@@CyclespeedTours oh btw, Fizik now also offers a wide version of their top road shoe. However, I’ve heard that it’s just wider in volume and feels about the same as the S-phyre shoes you already have. Whereas, some Lakes and the new Specialized Torch actually are wider in the sole plate.

@@CyclespeedTours the current Specialized Torch… I think it’s version 3 is actually the Specialized S-Works 8. Specialized has done a total revamp of their shoe sizing from anthropometric data. Geez. I sound like a Spesh rep.

If the problem is pain on the lateral edge of the foot, Lake wide solves this problem well. Unlike many other brands, it has a wide sole plate to support the outside edge of the foot. The wide foot version easily accommodates an EE foot.
