2 ай бұрынHi folks bit of a waffling update video and also a semi protest video this to 68 people 👍 the filthy lies is the model shop that tool my money!
As I always say thanks a million to all my subscribers, and thanks to everyone that watches my videos, if you haven’t subscribed please consider doing so, I like my subscribers quite a bit more than my none subscribers I almost love them, not quite love but better than friends😆
Thanks to the commenters and folk that share these on, they’re intended as light hearted entertainment, some are absolute crackers some a bit more serious. I love the model railways, I love filming them going about their business and I love chatting about them. No one in my house is interested in listening to me chat about them, hence I chat to you guys. Feel free to ask any questions.
The intention of this channel is to come at a different angle from the usual and do my own thing which may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
It gets me some peace up here in the loft though so I’ll keep it going. I only have a small fleet as they’re all the new sound fitted models and it’s a new hobby so don’t expect a different loco in each video. Hope you like this one, cheers! Dave

Your railway, your rules - there a load of hypocritical know it all trying to force there ideas on others and all there doing is making younger ones not want to get involved in our wonderful hobby - you keep on running your trains in what ever way you want and if anyone has a objection I’m perfectly willing to give them privately my address so I can insert my walking stick where the sun don’t shine !! lol ps yes it does get my goat …..,

In this world today we're told what we can and can't do, what we can and can't say, what we can and can't think and where we can and can't go. So a model railway makes us god for it is us and us alone that decides what happens and when it happens. Many rivet counters scour videos looking for someone who steps out of line that they can then ridicule to their hearts content. I have no videos on my channel and most of the rivet counters don't either but that never stops them from having the gall to tell others what the MUST do on their layout. All you can say to them is "well if you don't like it then s*d off and watch another channel". I applaud you Dave 👏and long may doing things your way continue.

This video is brilliant. My layout isn't perfect. Are heritage lines have Max speed limits of 50mph . And we also run trains in different directions because of the way I layed the track plan. But hey ho who cares. We don't. Just makes for some interesting moments. 😊 great video Dave cracking views.

Interesting fact: if you take your layout to Australia, the locos will go round the other way. Keep up the bonkers-crackeredness. Ironically it's a haven of sanity for some of us at times. 2 gold ⭐⭐and a gold 👝for your missus.

Hey a shout out huzzah! To be honest you may of mentioned me before but my memory is shot to sh**. Same here I got a comment the other week that my train was running on the wrong line. I was unaware that there was a correct line for the direction you are going but realise now that is the case of course. Up line Down line and all that. But like you I just want a descent shot of trains running. Hell, I don't even know where signals go lol. But we learn as we go.

I’d do the same, I’ve started running Kadee at one end and hornby buckeye at the other simply because I can’t make my mind up which couplings are best for me!

(Yeah I switched back on and watched to the end) I’m not so offended now as I was earlier with all those trains running the wrong way, good recovery on your part Dave… I run trains the wrong way round on my layout, but use the caveat (not sure exactly what that means) of saying that there are engineering works on the mainline, that normally suppresses the rivet counters…., or maybe just keep doing what you do 🤷♂️ Looking forward to seeing your new 66 on the layout whichever way it runs, they’re a cracking model… Anyway I’m off to Annie’s for a bargin breakfast….. three rashes of bacon you say? Well Dave if that is all that people can find as unacceptable it is a good thing they don't see my layout with German steam locos, British steam locos, American deisels and German and Japanese electric. Most rivet counters happily ignore uk models both N and OO being over scale to wheel sets and track, and track sleeper spacing is wrong for the uk….but spot that on 3rd June 1933 this gwr loco did not have this detail in this place….crazy! Good comments…..I run both US and UK so something is always going in the right direction…

Hi Dave whilst the comment is correct e.g trains run on LHS as per how we drive in UK.. however you have never claimed to be a rivet counter and your videos are are brilliant entertainment.. pls keep up great content and ignore rivet counters.. I run it the way I want. I can't afford the latest locos I buy 20.00 and under used locos most of the time. Which means you might not see a lot of "modern era" versions of locos, and you might see steam freight passing DB Intercity express EMU or you will see a US SD40 pulling a rake of European wagons. You will also see cheap bachmann Vehicles instead of $70.00 sets of Wiking and Herpa and Brekina vehicles.

You know you're doing something right when you get 68 dislikes! I often run stuff in wrong direction but nobody ever notices. If they did I'd just say those lines are bi-directional. Name and shame the chancers who took your money under false pretences. I bought and paid for my Accurascale 66 on may 31 direct from Accurascale and they still haven't sent it 😡

Seriously or not seriously, the mad story’s are a great twist on the hobby and another creative side we need to embrace. All I can say is you must eat a lot of blue cheese before bedtime.

The wrong direction thing never bothered me. Partly because I assumed your lines are signalled for bi-directional running and partly because it’s a model railway so you can do whatever makes you happy. I did the same with a class 66. My layout is based in the early 90s so a 66 is technically UNACCEPTABLE but I remember the hype of the first “shed” coming off the boat from Canada and wanted to recreate that at home. If I could make one suggestion for your HST, the TGS (with the longer vestibule at one end) should be next to one of the power cars to be prototypical. But if you’re not bothered don’t listen to some random guy on KZfaq with a time travelling 66. Rule one rules.

Nah, it's a nice layout you've got mate - it's a model railway, not a model OF a railway, you know? But seriously with the couplings, I'm not sure what you're doing to snap them so much 😂 I've managed to snap two of them in 2 years of using them... Try gently put them on at the foot end pinched, that's what I do and it tends to work well mate... I'll do a tutorial and in-depth guide for you.😂😂??

Haha - don’t you find they just pull straight back out of the nem pockets though or do you glue yours in? They’re the loosest fit ever in almost all my rolling stock, hanger why I black tack them in and even then they fall out. 🤯

Red buffers only has the plate on one side as I could afford two plates so if he’s platelets he’s generally going backwards 👍

Well done, sir I could not agree more. That’s why my channel is called my name and Model Railway the point is it’s all about me and it’s what looks good and functional to me now you sir have an excellent fine model layout very very detailed and I always make mention in my videos about I’m one of these people that paid extra for my locomotives that have the ability to move in either direction so it doesn’t matter which way they go of course I say that in just as sarcasm but a slightly serious side to it as well and I always keep cross referencing my wonderful friend Thomas the Tank Engine when you’re drawn into a story and at a moment of realism is really not the focus of what’s going on so to you sir I salute you I get plenty of rather pedestrian styled comments and feedback. My number one response to that type of attitude is well what was your approach? Knowing very well if I check into these people look at their actual KZfaq channels, but don’t post any videos probably don’t even have a Model Railway spend all their lives, just reading railway magazines, being a couch critic keep up the good work. The content is fantastic and as long as it makes you happy who cares.

Geez! You could have at least added some full-size items as wagon loads just to add to the pain of rivet counters who don't understand what this channel is about. A guy came round to look at my crappy layout and said I had the upline and downline the wrong way round. I pointed out to him that it was basically 2 ovals that didn't go anywhere. That stumped him for a while. 🤣🤣 That vampire coal miner was a bit scary. Lucky bugger, you have 2 lofts? I've got a tiny one I can't stand up in. Cheers!

The LJ loft is really small to be fair, I usually sit on a swivel chair that you can hear creak on my videos, basically it creaks if you even turn your head so when filming I have to freeze lol Second loft wasn’t ideal as it’s got the water tank and nonsense inside it and is over the bedrooms so probably would have been a disaster thinking about it! I missed a trick on the full sized item loads didn’t think of that! Ps what’s in the Aus food garden? I’m thinking a lawn made of sausages and trees with slices of pizza, am I in the right ballpark? 😁👍
