All this was part of our master plan, Batman was upset too, and we have hire Affleck as Batman, he will be on the set all the time and make sure that Snyder doesn't shit the bed again, he will shadow direct the movie if needed, he is rewriting a bunch of the movie! EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. Oh, you hated Batman v. Superman: The dawn of justice? Too dark? Ah, wait till you see Suicide Squad it is going to be hilarious, did you see the new trailer we made for it? We like it soooo much we are going to do a bunch of reshoots, because we have faith in the movie, not to add jokes, that's crazy! David Ayer is the director, so don't read anything into the fact that Snyder is an executive producer, he will not shadow direct the movie! Now we look towards Wonder Woman, why is it set in WWI (rather than WWII when the character was originally set)? No reason, Zack likes that era, but he is not directing the movie! He only has a Story by credit, because he is known for his storytelling! And he is also a Producer, and has a cameo in the movie, but he knows about strong female characters! Haven't you seen Sucker Punch? Well it's not like it matters anyways, we have comic book's Geoff Johns co-in charge now, he'll be our new human shield, I mean Kevin Feige, and will make DC great again, just look at the new 52 he was co-publisher for that! With the Justice League movie we fired Snyder off the sequel, but we are going to let him direct the first one, unless the movie makes enough money that we let him do another.

If I was and A list actor I wouldn't sign on to do a DC comic book movie. As it is now it could ruin your career.

They pose some really good points here. I think they just need to focus on character and story over tone. Tone doesn't make a film great, characters and story do. DC/WB seems so focused on, not only trying to catch up to Marvel, but being overwhelmingly dark in some aspects as this will make them "different." You can't play catch up. Marvel is 10 years ahead in terms of storytelling and films. Marvel didn't get where they are by worrying about the other guy. DC needs to do the same. Stop worrying about Marvel, take your time and tell YOUR stories. I think they may have to play it a bit safe so they have some solid ground to build upon for the future. Marvel did the same in a way. This drastic morose direction they're taking Superman in doenst seem to be working. Embrace the classic hopeful Man of Steel. Establish that and then maybe see if you can explore new avenues afterward. Also, the studio suits have to stop meddling. They're so apprehensive about everything. There's got to be a balance between trusting the directors and writers while also having a clear vision for the universe. Give your storytellers room to breathe. When Nolan made TDK films, there wasn't pressure to deliver a sequel. He was able to take his time. WB needs to apply that to the DCEU.
