5 ай бұрынIn this 212 installment, Jimmy breaks out his 1st batch original Firefly FFPTH guitar from 2019/2020 on a fine “Feb 2024 Tele Tuesday” and asks if it’s possible for Firefly Guitars to “revamp” and bring this “sleeper model” back to the fans! I just got my second LP style Firefly and absolutely love it. I have a classic Strat style and love that. Still waiting for my FFTC to be delivered ups been slow lately. Next on the list would be a tele or super Strat unless a V style comes out first.

@@matthewfarren5423 Thanks so much Matthew. The headstock is certainly fine as is, but the newer “slimmer” headstock they have used on a couple of the newer Tele models looks killer..truly appreciate your stopping in…🎸👍

A neighbor of mine got one and I truly regret not pulling the trigger. I’ve been waiting for them to bring this Thinline back, I check the website regularly in hopes that I will see it, even emailed them specifically about bringing back the Thinline with P90s! All the guitars they put out are very nice, but the thinlines and the Firebirds have been the best they have produced, imho.

I have certainly learned over the past 5+ years that if you see something you are really interested in from Firefly, you need to react fairly quickly…😎 I am hoping that they bring them back, and with some of the newer refinements as well! From Leo: When I determined I needed a twin P90 guitar, Firefly was not around, so I converted a Strat. Great instrument. I do have a Tele with Filtertrons just to make sure no one is left out. The low cost guitars that have come around in the last 5 years would have saved me a ton of money on my odd experiments.

Btw, I totally agree about the headstock-that new more Fender-like headstock they’ve featured on models like the John 5 clone is much more cheerful and elegant looking somehow! I just hope Fender doesn’t sue them…

My preference for a tele are slightly hot alnico 3 pups, which sound like the original telecaster. Those alnico 2 P90 offerings would likely sound awesome.

I want one in purple sparkle or chameleon with all the upgrades t style headstock flamed roasted neck ss frets locking tuners.I bought the white and red tele with hh pickups and love it!

Saw they brought it back but as a very Gretsch-y red or black set neck, filtertron, bigsby!! So jumped on the red one. Like I need it... but so loved the Princy guitar & the jazzmastery one...

@JimmyStewart1 Apparently this Gretch/thinline idea came from Fender Custom Shop order from Bono. They also made a White Falcon looking one they called the White Chicken !!!😅

@@JimmyStewart1 I've yet to find a flaw in the fit and finish on any of these that I have ordered. I expect the same great product when the FFSP in MGB finish arrives on the 23rd which is so far away....I can't stand it!

Looks like you’re on a P90 kick lately, eh? 😉 First your “Billy Bob” ES-335-type guitar with P90’s, now this one… With your FFDCD/FFTC watching and waiting to be played… I can definitely tell that P90’s are your favorite kind of pickup! The FFPTH definitely seems like another UNQIUE model-seriously, how many P90-equipped thinline Tele clones are there out there? (I know even Fender has made some P90-equipped Teles, but those don’t count here. Lol) I should probably look into getting a P90-equipped guitar one day. So between the Grote, the FFPTH, and the FFTC, which P90 guitar do you think is better, and why?

Hey Chief, do you happen to know if they ship to Norway? I got a guy looking at them from there, and I couldn't tell him one way or the other. I did offer to have him ship to my place, and I would then ship it to him if need be.

He should, as I'm a very trustworthy person. I could understand if he passes on my offer with all the scammers, and jackasses on the internet looking to screw people over. He was impressed by them. He, like myself see no need to pay $5k for a guitar when $200 or so gets you where you want to be.

Because of all of the quality super-cheap Asian electric guitars there are now, I think I realize that people were scammed by Gibson and Fender, for a long long time. And, it seems to me that today, at least Gibson is "flailing". I am uncertain about Fender. 🙂

Now I remember something. Maybe I am too critical of Gibson and Fender. For many years CNC (computer numerical control) machines did not exist. At that time, human beings were required to operate the machines that were used to make electric guitars. 🙂

Yeah, saying it’s a “scam” is not really how I would describe it…😎 Labor costs are a big factor, along with advertising, dealers, marketing costs, middlemen, material, R&C…the list goes on and on…as long as players continue to pay the price! CNC has certainly cut down on labor costs, but labor costs here in the US are a big factor.

"Old Guitar Day!" 🥲 Wow, it really sounds nice! And, it is very pretty! I do like the Fender "head" better (I don't understand why I should use the word, or phrase, "headstock", "head stock".) Now I see the cherry double cut at Guitar(s) Garden! 🙂
