Hi everyone and thank you for 19:56 of your time. In this video we restore and repair HP Pavilion 15 with 10th gen Intel i5 CPU, a bit newer laptop but accidents are happening. Now everything is fine.

Hi Andrew, First of all I wanna thank you for giving me enough confidence to open my laptop and fix it by myself. Actually I have a Dell laptop which had some thermal issues and I also wanted to install a harddrive for additional storage. but ofc u know these companies give these kind of services for high prices so I ordered the parts myself, watched your videos to get information and did the job myself and gotta say my laptop is in way better shape now. So thank you again. Also I wanted to ask you the name of the songs u used in this video.

Excellent video. However, please have in mind that graphic performance is affected by single/dual channel memory setup. While Intel's iGPU isn't super fast, if you added another stick of RAM (and enable dual channel) Black Mesa would run much much better. All in all, great job and I love watching your videos as it really give some great ideas how to give some new life to once seemingly broken hardware.

My thoughts exactly - single channel RAM (especially when there is a slot free) is never a good idea. Getting an 8GB kit (of 2x 4GB) would resolve this and free up an 8GB module to use in a better laptop - or you could just throw in a second 8GB module, for 16GB total.

Well done for fixing this damaged laptop. At the start of the video, the laptop looked broken beyond repair! I found out by chance how to insert a SO-DIMM memory module perfectly tight: hold it at a high angle, insert into the slot with both thumbs until you hear it "click" into the socket, before gently pushing down on the top of the SO-DIMM until the clips secure it in place.
