It's been a while since we've done everyone's favorite (or least favorite) combo trials from the game with the most infamous ones: King of Fighters 13! And this time, we decided to see if Guilty Gear Strive legend Diaphone has what it takes to try out this game's unforgiving combos. Can Kizzie Kay and Diaphone beat K's trials?

Half circle back forward light punch , into 236, btw it needs to be delayed so that they are closer to the ground before you do it

@@abfloorr Ahh I tried that, maybe it wasn't delayed enough. Works for non-ex, but once you do ex you get ex dp. I'm thinking maybe if i did the fireball motion ending with 9 it might have worked

@@Diaphone Yeah its 2369, i just tested it and it seems most reliable from doing 6232369, but it works in the half circle scenario as well, though somewhat harder cause you arent buffering the DP

if you're playing on stick it's also pretty simple if you just make sure you go from 623A directly to 236AC without moving the stick to 6 in between the two motions

My first SNK game was the most recent SamSho game. For a game as "simple" as it is, it has some kinda weird timings on things from what I remember. I can't imagine playing KoF and getting through any of these.

Unclean inputs are the source of most of these drops tbh. The input buffer in this game is mad forgiving.

hey nice video, i like to see kof 13 gameplay, but i have had an issue with the way this game is presented, id really like if you guys could dispel a bunch of the "KOF xiii is the hardest game in human history and i could never play it" sentiment that started with J wong and yall perpetuated, which has led to MANY people psych themselves out of playing KOF. it would be nice if you could explain all the easy shortcuts and tricks that the game doesnt tell you that make it much much easier than expected, maybe discus things like the fact the game doesnt have a special move buffer unless you input the move early and hold the button, the games lenient inputs, longcutting a DP as halfcircle back forward so you can do a quarter circle afterward without getting double quarter circles , canceling into command normals super early, the fact that the game doesnt read half circles and DPs strictly and you dont need the diagonals, backdash canceling, going from low normals to halfcircles, the fact that doing 6236 AA gives you dp a then 236 a, the fact that you can bypass inputs like DPS by ending in upforward instead of forward, all that. It would really help if you guys did this cause the KOF community deserves an honest look at their game from these big influencers that isnt just " KOF killed my family? so hard ultimate ill never walk again trials" many people would appreciate it.

This shit is so obscure that it should be written in the game tutorial or something in the first place. I was so frustrated with this that I wrote a macro to dial the inputs for me and checked if it had to do with staying neutral as long as possible and I would still get the double quarter circles. It's mandatory for these types of cancels and you would never get there by yourself even as an experienced fighting game player. Even other variations of longcutts didn't work like doing DP> neutral>HCF, it would still get double QCF.

"all the easy shortcuts and the tricks the game doesnt tell you" not the tubers' fault that the game doesnt teach u how to properly do inputs, sounds like snk's problem. plus do u actually expect a funny little trial reaction video to suddenly turn into an in-depth guide/sales pitch? that said, they couldve explained the hcb f longcut after kizzie mentioned it

@@Yan4yan Actually LOL, i messed up there, thats one way to do it, but long cutting a DP is most useful for the purpose of doing the 214 of a super, because for some chars like kyo, his super is 2141236, but its actually 214, 2 6 cause of the way the game reads halfcircles, so when you do a longcut, you get 63 _214_ 6 a, _236_ a, this method also works for normal dp into quarter circles, but in cases where you dont want the super( cause longcut dp into quarter circle forces the super input) or the char has a halfcircle back forward move, you do 6236 A A and that counts for the DP and the quarter circle, doesnt work with some chars, but you can do the longcut method for those guys. If all else fails doing perfect 623236 is an option, but for some that is a very inconsistent input, me included, so i stick to the previous 2 methods. also i should detail in my comment what the button hold trick actually is cause i doubt these influencers will actually explain anything.

@@ckorp666 yeah, the game doesnt tell it to you, thats a big problem with pre 2010 games. But KOF is a legacy game, much like tekken, the KOF input reader and its tricks have existed since the beginning of KOF, these are legacy KOF skills the game tests IN AN EXECUTION TEST MODE FOR LEGACY PLAYERS. it is a TRIAL MODE not a combo teacher. For them to present the game as "you are doing all of these every second 20 times a match" is completely incorrect, when 90 percent of all combos in kof are light normal, light normal, special. They ruined the public perception of kof. Do people say " oh yeah tekken looks cool but it is impossible to play and you need to do 40 ewgfs in a row to play the game and 200 perfect 1 frame korean backdashes to start the game"? no. The panda players should take accountability for spreading these incorrect ideas.
