I'm glad you got Luna in the end, it's definitely a very brutal game, especially since the chain almost always guarantees that it's going to spin. Normally I try to aim for near the plush or the back. If you can get the hook in the smallest gap there (including ones that are mostly blocked by the plush) you have a much better chance of the hook grabbing :)

I'm not sure if the gap in the hook is wide enough. They bought an S hook from the hardware store and those are designed to be closed over a chain link.
