I'm a lesbian and I've struggled with my religion and my relationship with god ever since I knew i was gay and couldn't completely convince myself that I wasn't. But watching this video has given me the courage to try. Not to dive into the deep end of the pool and eat, sleep and breathe jesus but at least to try to rebuild that relationship

I love that this is being talked about. Christianity is not about God only loving certain people. A christian can be and look like anyone! God loves everyone! There's a lot of comments saying that you can be Christian and gay, and lots saying that you can't because the Bible states that it's a sin. So here's a crazy idea: maybe we could stop living our lives by what a 2500 year old book written by humans says and do what makes us happy?

I agree with these guys. I am a straight Christian and I can't really understand why the church is so against gay people, when from what I understand Jesus loved everyone no matter the differences. The way I see it is that if no one is getting hurt and the people I love are happy let them live their life.

Well, you can't pick and choose religious laws. If Christianity forbids being queer then that's what it is. God is merciful And loving but he is also just. If there was a rule forbidding robbery you can't just say God is loving and he will forgive me and go about stealing things. You will be judged and held accountable for your ALL your actions. It wouldn't be fair for the rest of people who played by the rules. God will forgive a person when he truly regrets what he has done. I'm not a Christian myself but I do not like people adjusting religious laws to fit them. You wanna be queer and Christian be so, but don't go around telling people that Christianity is okay with it. No, you can't. You have to be one or the other. Just because there are "Gay Christians" does not mean it's right. To be a Christian one must accept the word of God as a whole not in parts. We cannot change the word to suit our lifestyle. God loves us, no doubt but he cannot stay where sin is and being gay is just that! To show we love God we must obey his every word/commandment. You're either hot for God or cold for him. You can't be half. The Bible says this. Sorry but the truth must be said. Love buzzfeed but the answer is NO.

yes you can be gay and Christian. I'm Catholic and I believe that you are allowed to be who you want to be or who you are meant to be and still love God in the process. God made us all and he made you gay. The Bible isn't what you should go by, the love in your heart and the desire to be a good person should be your priorities. The Bible was guidelines made up by man to control others, manipulating God's word into their benefit. I love God and I know in my heart that he loves you all as well no matter who you are. You may think religion is a joke and to an extent you would be right. The way religion can be used is disgusting. People use their religion to justify their prejudice but not all people who believe in God are like that. And I think when people are clumped together it's wrong because no one in this world thinks exactly the same, we just need a group to identify with. Anyways rant over lol just felt the need to give my perspective.

Some how being gay came up at youth group, the adults first started accepting...... But then one of them was explaining how a person who went to their church was now gay. She had a really negative tone saying 'he knew better'..... It killed both me and my friend and we really questioned how excepting they really were. Now I'm just really nervous if they realize I'm bi and Christian, because no one knows yet

I'm a Christian and I just have to say true christians don't hate gay people. The Bible says to love EVERYONE. That includes the LGBT community. God loves everyone including LGBT people. He created them. My uncles are gay and I love them just as much as my straight uncles.

Okay so I'm part of the swedish Church which is lutherarian (is that the Word? Idk) and at least in My church they're really accepting, Two of My best "church-friends" are both gay and transgender. The church also have something called "Rainbow-mass" which basically is the ordinary mass but with a lgbtq+ theme.

Yay! I love the subject matter and discussions in this video. I, myself, am straight... but I wholeheartedly believe, if God made you, he loves you...ALL OF YOU. He made each one of us special. He made us to love one another. Please don't let the clouded mind of a few people, color your view of the church. You can find an open church that is more than happy to have you in attendance, they do exist. :)

I am a closeted bisexual that is a Christian. I’ve currently been struggling about church. My church believes being gay is an “abomination”. I have grown up with this church sense I was about 8 I went every other Sunday with my grandma. For a while when I was older my grandma begged me to come but honestly I came back to church on my own because I just went through a break up and needed a community and a better relationship with God and it helped. I looked forward to going to church every Sunday (well unless I had a hangover I’m 21 and still young sorry Jesus). Anyways I didn’t like the few time they talked bad about the LGBT+ and most are Trump supporters as well. I’m not political I just think he can act childish and unprofessional sometimes. Recently with the whole Coronavirus they have been going crazy. They are saying people shouldn’t wear masks and just trust Jesus, talking negatively about homosexuality, and believing crazy links on Facebook trying to scare people. My favorite couple that I grew up with in the church they were like grandparent figures to me left because the lady has a really low immune system and didn’t want to come back to church so soon and the pastors were very rude to them and saying that the couple are being fearful and slipping in faith. It really hurt their feelings so they left. It made me sad because they are amazing people and done so much for the church and then they get treat this way. They have directed plays I starred in one as the lead, they choreographed dances that are part ASL I was in a few, the man sing with the Worship Team, the lady worked the computer to put the lyrics on the screen and bible verses on the screen so people can see better, and the man was also a Sunday school teacher (he taught me and now I help him). I heard there is an LGBT supporting church 45mins from me but I hate to leave my current church because my grandma is a Karen (personality and name) and I will never hear the end of it. She always begs my mom to come when my mom told me when she feels like she wants to start attending church she wants to go to one completely separate so it can be her own thing. I’ve just been so stressed with the virus, my job, being closeted, religion, family, etc. Sorry this is so long
