Hi everyone! We are here with a pencil collection video with Alex! Alex was nice enough to bring in a whole backpack full of her pencils and colored pencils. Join us as we go over some cool items in her collection, like her daily carry pencils, her favorites, and most expensive colored pencils, and discuss pencil-adjacent items like sharpeners, pencil accessories and erasers! Thanks for this great video! In particular, I really appreciate your integrity for being willing to include an honest assessment of the perfect pencils from the perspective of a genuine user. I am often sceptical of review content from stores because they have a vested interest in selling their products and upselling in particular, so this video's veraciousness was a breath of fresh air that has given me faith in your videos going forward (which I already knew were excellent in terms of production-value and comprehensiveness)!

When Alex started unpacking her backpack I thought, "Wow! That's a lot of pencils!" But then I started mentally tallying all of the ones I have, and ... 😅 The double-sided Caran d'Ache pencils are a favorite of mine too, especially the graphite+highlighter version, and the Faber-Castell Polychromos are so excellent for layered effects with other media. Blackwing special editions make nice gifts if you can bear to split up a box. 😊

I absolutely love the polychromos as well. I have caran dache derwent lightest etc. But polychromos quality, unlimited layering and bang for buck is my fav as well.

I definitely am sentimental over pencils. I have the colored pencils that my mom, who is no longer with me in person, used for her coloring.

the pencil I've had the longest has been with me for 26 years sense I was in high school and they still make them today papermate clearpoint excellent pen and the oldest pencil I have is probably over 120 years old its gold and its falling apart but the mechenism is a single lead and it screws to extend this post within the mechenism to extend the lead its so weird and cool :)

This was a fun video to watch. You two are so much fun to watch. I like ALL the pencils too. I have a bunch from when my kids were in school. I use pencil alot to make lists and write in possible appointments or outings.

Thank you for sharing your pencil collection! Did you ever go to CW Pencils when it was still open in NYC? I still have pencils from Caroline’s shop that I can’t bring myself to use, it’s too nostalgic!

I have never used an electric pencil sharpener that must be so cool I've mostly used hand crank ones in early school and mechanical pencils when they came out with them

I would be very interested in trying to do calligraphy with that oblong pencil I may look to see if they have any at the store I go to for art supplies :)
