I played until AR 45 without using artifacts since I read that you shouldn't grind for them until you hit AR 45. Why I didn't bother using artifacts AT ALL is another question that has no answer but it really wasn't too bad honestly.

actually the only places where artifacts are so importabt where its basically impossible to go without is : some lvl 90 artifact domains and abbyss. generally overworld and the story stuff is fairly easy (also dendro reactions are powerful)

I know of the pain of doing this run as i stopped playing for like a year and when I came back I got stuck on raidens first boss fight at like ar 37-40 all because I never equipped any artifacts and when I looked and saw none the moment I equipped them I beat her first try

I've done this challenge before and I have some recommendations 1.use a healer like diona, barbara,Noelle and etc is good since you have no artifacts because if you don't have any artifacts you won't have much HP so healing is recommended 2.also use shielders.diona is overall the best but kirara,Noelle, xingyan zhongli and other shielders are also very good 3.use elemental reactions. Try using burgeon as it can do 1-2 or 3k as it is strong for me. Do hyperbloom, melt, vaporise and superconduct as they will be useful 4.try practicing your dodging skills if you can and also learn skills. (Edit) 5.use good weapons that use critdmg/critrate/em/HP as all of them will be useful especially When your lucky to get a 5-star! Bonus tip for beidou:when there's fire on the ground and behind the enemies you should hold skill then attack as it can be decently strong:)!
