Only paratroopers. you have infantry to hold but the only way you can push is with paratroopers. Only planes you can use is fighters to get air superiority and transports of course.

What’s funny is that guns only will destroy max buffed Germany on elite difficulty too.. in 1943 no less. The way to do this is to always be grinding them down as long as you have guns in stockpile. The more you grind their manpower, the better it will be. By 1943 I got the germans down to 20m casualties and back to Berlin. I took about 30m casualties

I have a diabolical suggestion: Instead of world conquest: World Liberation. You have to free every territory on earth. You may play as any nation you want, form alliances, break them, any method is on the table... EXCEPT: You may not conquer anyone you defeat. You can puppet them, but you can't hold them. Which means, you can't just play it like World Conquest and then release all the states at the end. You gotta juggle them all until every territory capable of independance is independent... lastly, including your own. Obviously, releasing your own territories is last priority, but puppeting should be enough to get you the resources and control you need to guarantee the correct outcome.

The way to really do this is to make a jagged line so that the enemy frontline is as thin as possible, while you still have 5+ infantry divisions per tile!

Another Challenge: maximum casualities! You don't want to win a war, you destroy their manpower, i.e. holding frontlines, just encirceling, dropping nuxes.

I'd suggest marine-italy: you can only fight on a frontline, thats open by your marines. This way you'd have to focus on navy, planes and you'd need to escape the mediterrainian sea to be useful and probably need to fight turkey.

I did that easily, they key thing to this channel is Tag (Country You're fightint) and remove their divisions. 10/10 works every time.

What about nothing only challenge? As the USA, don't have any active units or planes. You can lend lease your allies and give them garrison support. (Idk if you did this one but I just think this would be hilarious. I call it the drew durnil challenge.)

Easiest challenge, hell, you don't even need guns if you have enough people Just convert that tiny battalion to a chonky one They might not have guns, but the AI won't push you either, so... (You can actually push sometimes, don't ask me how though, I guess fist beats guns and tanks) Although the late game always becomes a nukefest with the AI stacked divisions I mean, you could naval invade, It's not like every coastal province will be defended at once Although guns help, like, to the point where you can beat any natio, just ignore the casualties and grind on!

Super heavy only: super heavy tanks, super heavy battleships, and large airframes. Only catch is no trading for oil or building refineries allowed

Special Forces Only would be kinda neat to see, especially with the latest updates. Doesn't mean you can't make any regular infantry, you just can't use them. *Air would be allowed as well to enable paratrooper usage.

IIRC, there was one "true" way to still do this, if you wanted to bite the bullet and install road to 56. You can put nukes on tier 3 rockets and launch them that way. You might still need air superiority, though, I can't quite remmeber.

So in this episode he demonstrates the power of a proper rolling thunder tactic… except instead of artillery and a battle, he has used nukes and the entire war.

not watched the video yet but the answer is yes, yes you can infantry only I know this because I often used to forget my air force and never liked tanks and for quite a while never knew how to update my divisions to add artillery.

this is quite literally how I play hoi4 most of the time (I use artillery but that's about it. I still don't know how air and navy works)
