You know Michael, you shouldn’t feel bad about not purposefully making a challenge more difficult for yourself. Personally, it’s just as entertaining watching how you plan out your strategy for these runs and use some Pokémon who don’t get a lot of screen time otherwise. Also I totally resonate with the “this is hard enough!!” Mentality. I’ve tried Pokémon challenges and I...I feel your pain 😂

@@chocolatethesceptile Yes, it is. It has always been fire-ground. If yo look at the Bulbapedia page for it and, say a Pokemon that was given Fairy type in Gen 6, the fairy type will have a line on it's page like "Prior to Gen (number), it was a (Insert type here)". No such line for Camerupt.

Quick tidbit for you all: Disable is 55% accurate in this generation. It's definitely not a viable option against Double Team spam since he'd also need to land this _after_ the first Double Team.

Feel like a lot of the struggles you had in this playthrough could’ve been solved with the usage of Alakazam’s Disable. Disable the HELL out of Double Team!

true, but it only lasts 4 turns - it wasn't consistently spamming the annoying moves (unless disable had hit after one double team) so disabling another move like surf would only have made more double teams even more likely

Disable has 55% accuracy in this game and that's not including the fact that these Pokémon would need to use Double Team first. And it's not permanent. This is frankly not worth trying.

My opinion on using revives, is simple unless you make it as a rule for yourself, I say use it. Plus revives are just another form of a potion if you want to do a play though a Pokemon game without healing items for it.

When I got surprised that torkoal didn't miss any move, I remembered it's ability bypassed stat changes(that being white smoke I think). I remembered it becuase MDB mentions it in some challenges.

Sturdy pre-gen 5 only works on moves that state that they OHKO something. Literally doesn't protect against one use ko moves like x4 S.E. moves until Gen 5.

Last time I had to face Juan’s Kingdra, it had to use Struggle and my Exploud defeated it with Ice Beam…Y’know…AFTER IT USED DOUBLE TEAM TO GET IT TO MAX EVASION SO I MISSED THE STUPID KINGDRA EVERYTIME UNTIL IT STRUGGLED (TRUST ME, I COUNTED),

09:26 the reason Torkoal never missed was cause it's ability is White Smoke, which prevents stat lowering, meaning Mud Slap couldn't lower it's accuracy at all.

Love this challenge. My team was walrein(beast), camerupt(ash), pelipper(peeko), hariyama(all might), raichu(palpatine) And swalot(H. G. BLOB). I did it on ruby. Thanks for the idea.

Tip: If you use a repel while the leading Pokémon in your party is say, lvl 25. You'll still get encounters, but only with Pokémon lvl 25 & above. Easiest way to use the Safari Zone, also works everywhere else

The first and second would be way too difficult for Michael. The third would either be too hard or too easy depending on who he gets. Only HW moves may be reasonable though.

Okay, for 6 of the same pokemon, I know you said random...but might I suggest Smeargle. Like, we would get to see him collect all the moves and he has the option for a pretty move diverse team. Just a thought. Also, Smeargle is cool.

How about playing without fighting wild pokémon? The only exp allowed is the one gained from trainer battles and rare candies. Plus, if this is done in Gen I there's no way to rebattle trainers already beaten, but that'd probably be too difficult
