That video's first minutes is the exact reason I started to ban Kata as a mid main: even if I adapt and play the lane correctly, harassing ehr and never putting myself in danger, the moment she leaves the lane and goes bot, I could have a giant message on my botlane's screen that says "BACK OFF SHE'S COMING", they would still overextend, give her a double kill and now she destroys me...

To answer the question : Botlane often has no ways to prevent the gank from happening. Bouncing waves can easily happen considering a support might fuck a wave, or have the damage to just create a bounced wave. If the enemy lane sets up a freeze, and you decide to respect the roam, you will lose a minimum of two waves (around the time that Kata will be in fog of war) and then anywhere from 1/2 more (or 80% of your hp breaking the freeze) waves up to 5/6 if the matchup is really hellish. Giving the enemy botlane full reign over the vision and the lane push over a gank or a roam will affect the lane way, way more than katarina possibly getting a double kill if you do get the wave in. Not to mention the enemy jungler very likely to show up since you can't walk up and ward without prio either. Of course, you should never die on a slowpushing wave INTO you, but while some people will make the mistake, it's often not the case. That's why in many cases junglers (and sometimes midlaners and supports) are supposed to be there on bouncing waves to secure the push in; it's not because there is a possible play, it's because the entire dynamic of the next 3 waves is decided on whether you get that wave in or not. It's often a make or break for the lane, and botlaners tend to go for these waves regardless, consciously or unconsciously, because they have bad soloQ habits and don't expect covers. Because you can tank it one time and lose 15+ cs, but if it ever happens twice you are 600+ gold behind on champs that are extremely stat-checky. Botlane usually has the most complicated setups when it comes to wave management, because mid is very short and toplane being a 1V1 makes the wave plays a LOT slower. There's an much wider variety of matchups and lane dynamics when it comes to bot because of the fact we are talking about pairings.

To answer the question at 2:16, I'm no expert but I believe the game is coded to where players stats only update when in vision. Since your team is always in your vision (obviously) they always update, so this only really applies to the enemy team. The Taliah died in a bush that wasn't warded when you fought them in top-lane so it won't say she died and remove stacks on dark seal until she is seen by your team's vision again. I was curious about this for a while and did some troubleshooting and believe this is the answer, I could be wrong.

Insight on kata: maxing e doesnt give you more refund. Refund is completetly based on her lvl (78 / 84 / 90 / 96% on lvl 1/6/11/16) Maxing e however DOES lower the base cooldown from 14 to 8 seconds
