We spent the day in Disney's Animal Kingdom to see if it was possible to do everything in one day - every ride, every show, every walking trail, eating, drinking and shopping in every land, meeting characters, pin trading - EVERYTHING! And just to make it extra challenging, we did it all on a holiday weekend without using Disney Genie Plus to skip the lines.
If you're planning a Disney World trip and wondering how much you can fit in one park day, check out this video and subscribe to our channel to see our future videos where we attempt this in all the other parks!
Even though Expedition Everest is closed, we planned a jam-packed day: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Dinosaur, Triceratop Spin, Kali River Rapids, Na'Vi River Journey, Flight of Passage, Feathered Friends in Flight, KiteTails, It's Tough to Be a Bug, Celebration of Festival of the Lion King, Gorilla Falls, Maharajah Jungle Trek, Tree of Life Garden, Rafiki's Planet Watch, Conservation Station, Affection Section, Harambe Fruit Market, Chester & Hester's, Windtraders, Pongu Pongu, Restaurantosaurus, Mr. Kamal's, Serka Zong Bazaar, Mombasa Marketplace, Discovery Trading Company, Rainforest Cafe, character sightings, pin trading and more!
Did we manage to get it all done? Find out in our video and pick up some tips and tricks for your next day at Disney's Animal Kingdom!
WHAT WE USE TO FILM OUR VIDEOS
Note that we make a commission from Amazon if you purchase using the links here:
DJI OM 5
This is like a steadicam for your phone. It keeps all your shots smooth and level, even while you are walking. Do not use on fast rides like roller coasters. Also note that this can convert to a selfie stick, but selfie sticks are not allowed in Disney Parks. This item is allowed because it is primarily a gimbal but you are not allowed to extend it.
amzn.to/3Q56hrb
RODE VIDEO MICRO
This little microphone is a great, affordable way to cut down on the noise around you so people can hear your voice. Just be sure to point it at the sound you want and unplug it when you want to hear all the sound around you.
amzn.to/3TwZxp0
COLD SHOE MOUNT ADAPTER
If you want to use the DJI Om 5 and the microphone at the same time, you need one of these.

Another outstanding video! We've been to AK multiple times over the years but looking at the whole park broken down into countries and then countries into all the possible places to visit by category is SO helpful! We've always just randomly chosen different things in the past. Now that we take our grandchildren, seeing details of the various rides, dining, and shops helps to see which ones to visit/pass for younger children. Beyond the great info, organization, and editing, your happy affect, smile, and sense of fun are truly enjoyable to watch. Thank you!

Love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing them. I'm curious at the end there how much was that Avatar flight wait...was it really 25-30 minutes at end of night? Cheering you on!
@EarScouts
@EarScouts 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We ride FOP last most nights when we are in Animal Kingdom (which is a lot - it’s our favorite park!). It is typically posted as a 1 hour or more wait, but it is usually around 20-40 minutes, depending on how busy the parks are. While posted wait times are generally somewhat accurate during the day, they are typically a little inflated at the end of the night to discourage a bunch of people from jumping in line. That said, there are sometimes nights when multiple “link chambers” are not functioning and the line takes forever. We waited 70 minutes once, but that is very rare.

@EarScouts
@EarScouts Жыл бұрын
Hi Karan! That’s a tough one. Does your 6yr old really love animals? Those are my two favorite parks, so it’s hard for me to pick, but they are very different. Hollywood Studios is much more focused on rides and the experience of places like Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land. Animal Kingdom is more peaceful and focused on nature and animals. Pandora is also an immersive experience in Animal Kingdom and they would likely enjoy Flight of Passage, but Star Wars and Toy Story are more popular franchises, especially for a little one.

@EarScouts
@EarScouts Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! We’ve been noticing that Everest has surprisingly low wait times in the morning and later in the afternoon. We go after work during the week and it is often practically a walk-on around 6:00 - even now during the busy summer season. That said, Everest is a must-do for me, so I would put it after Kilimanjaro and/or Kali River Rapids in the morning and do Dinosaur after that since it is right next door in Asia and typically has lower wait times. Hope you have a wild time in Animal Kingdom! 🦒🦓

@EarScouts
@EarScouts 2 жыл бұрын
That should be do-able. We did a video where we did everything in Animal Kingdom in one day WITHOUT the Genie - every ride, every show, food, shopping, the works. Start booking your rides for later in the day as soon as you can and then set a two hour timer so you can book multiple rides before you even get there. Just be sure to watch the closing times on Kilimanjaro Safaris and the walking trails - they close earlier than the rest of the park. Save Flight of Passage for the last ride and get in that line right before park close since you can’t use Genie Plus. Good luck and let us know how it goes! 🍀

@EarScouts
@EarScouts 11 ай бұрын
Hi Stacey! It is definitely on the to-do list, though we will have to use Genie for MK and HS. It’s not really possible to do “everything” in those parks without it. Epcot is debatable. It depends on your definition of “everything.” Technically all of World Showcase is one land, though I think most people would expect that we would do stuff in every country. That would be tough even with Genie. We are planning to do them all, though. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

@EarScouts
@EarScouts Жыл бұрын
Hi Natasha! Since we live here now, the only time we stay at resorts is to review them as Disney properties, so we don’t ever end up staying in non-Disney hotels (other than the Swan, which is great, but still kind of a Disney World hotel even though it’s owned by Marriott). Before we moved here, we occasionally stayed in non-Disney hotels, but I can’t say we stayed in any that I would highly recommend. The service we received at the All-Star resorts was much better than anything we experienced off-property and the price is not that much more depending on the season.

Yes. We have a friend who worked on Flight of Passage and he said for high profile rides like FOP, they are instructed to keep the posted wait time high shortly before park close to encourage people to spread to other rides and/or help get traffic moving out of the park. Note that this is not true all day, just at night before closing and sometimes when they have other operational things they are trying to work through.
