When I played 2b2t (I was leader of the Invisibles group if you’re familiar), we farmed 1 million melons and placed them at spawn in about 8 real life hours. We had 4 entire 32 chunk render distances covered in auto farmers all the way to height limit. Although that 8 hours is most definitely not including the time spent building the machines. That took us like 2 weeks lol, but after that we basically had infinite melons that we couldn’t even deliver fast enough.

This was so much better than I thought it would be. I clicked on it thinking, "Darn. No Lifesteal." and ended it thinking, "Who needs Lifesteal when you have melons?"

Yo @rekrap2, you could have made your storage more efficient by not adding more chests down the row, but rather across the column i.e. the water stream, as a single hopper can only handle a small load of items.

At the rate he was going, I calculated he would only end up with 991,375 melons but it was incredible how he managed to get past a million at the last second. Truly remarkable and did not see that coming.

The reason the game crashed is because your auto melon farm was just sitting entities there because you blocked it off. There was most likely 10K items just sitting there

If you were so torn up about not having slime…..use honey. Easy to farm from bees, and do the exact same thing as slime when used in redstone. Also putting the chunk loader on the auto melon farm was probably more useful, so when mining or harvesting the manual farm it was still producing hundreds of thousands of melons in the meantime

farming in minecraft is so nice i love making massive farms like multi layer huge pumpkin, wheat, carrot, or any fun crop i dont know why but its so fun to look at huge farm fields

I can't be only one who was like "why doesn't he use silk touch". It would give 9 guaranteed slices from every melon from manual farm. In comparison, fortune III is 6.(something) per one. You'd still need automatic farm, obviously. It's just a small improvement

Btw, chunk loading does not cause random ticks to happen, and therefore doesn't work for any farm that requires random ticking. (including melon farms)
