A woman in my church gave a testimony that she s pregnant at age of 51. No ivf. Secondly she said she entered menopause 4 years ago. Miracles still happen.

I already had four grown up children and then remarried. At age 45, I was surprised to find myself pregnant. Natural birth, perfect boy. So we tried for another at age 47. Natural birth, perfect boy. I would have tried for more, but my husband was sensible (?!). They are both strong and healthy and very intelligent aged now 29 and 27.

But you don't know that those women are menopausal or have "no eggs". I'm over 52 and not even perimenopausal. One of my sisters was in menopause and had a natural pregnancy and healthy baby at age 48. We are all aging differently and some people still do have eggs past 50 (which is not to say that people aren't using donor eggs). Anyway, current science is pointing towards the fact the the ovaries do indeed contain egg stem cells which can produce new eggs. The paradigm is shifting.

I think that it is dangerous for doctors to make one size fits all conclusions. Every person is different. I just watched a video of a woman in Africa that birthed 44 babies. She is 38 years old. Each pregnancy she carried a litter of babies - quintuplets, quadruplets, twins, etc. The doctors tried to tie her tubes but she still got pregnant. So, I say all that to say - ladies, trust yourself. If your spirit tells you that there is a baby for you to birth, believe it! Don't let any doctor steal your dream.

The question was, can you get pregnant naturally after menopause? Answer is yes according to so many comments. So their must be other eggs still available after menopause?

Come on now. There is no absolute way to know if a woman has no eggs left. This is why women like my aunt who was in menopause for two yrs, ended up preg at 55. The egg calculation is only a guess.

Oh don’t let this fool you. I went to a fertility center I tried on my own When I was 49 and then I decided to go with the donor and they took my money 24,000 to be exact because anybody over 45 cannot use their insurance… But they never told me throughout the year I was going there that my uterine lining never reached 7 mm and then gave me the egg transfer a 5.8 mm and I had a chemical pregnancy, chances are it was definitely the thickness of my uterine lining… They don’t tell you everything they should’ve told me I wasn’t a good candidate instead of taking my money… It’s not so easy getting pregnant with a donor egg, chances are greater but there are still other obstacles they don’t tell you in the beginning.

Seeing older celebrities having babies IS an emotional trigger, especially to those of us who cannot have kids but went through several IVF treatments trying to use our own eggs. They had not developed egg freezing techniques when I was young enough to do it (right AFTERWARD they perfected egg freezing of course! 🤬) Then, to be told that adoption agencies have AGE LIMITS for prospective adoptive parents, usually age 40.

My husband has never had a biological child and we met when it was apparently too late for us to conceive naturally as we have never used birth control and I conceived 4 times easily as a younger woman. I am now in menopause and on estrogen. I'm in excellent physical shape and people are always stunned when they discover that I am 53. My family all lives well into old age (even up to 100 in a couple cases), no diseases or health problems. My pregnancies were healthy and I gave birth naturally. My reproductive organs are all in tact, and I have no personal or family history of miscarriages, stillbirths, or birth defects. My sons would say my biggest issue has been passing down my height deficiency ( I'm short), but since I'd be using a donor egg anyway this baby wouldn't have to worry about that! Also, if you wanted them to have a sibling could you have twins?

Ok I was 41 and had my first child very healthy. Younger girls I met in their 20s had preeclampsia and premature babies so why speaking like it's only older women that have those problems. My now 6 year old son was born when I was 45. Natural conception and completely surprising pregnancy. My hubby and I already had 3 kids who were already in their teens and preteens at the time. Thankfully, he was born very healthy and still remains bright and healthy. God is so good! I'm so grateful, I would advise women not to wait too long to attempt to have a child. The risks for abnormalities go up with maternal age, so plan accordingly.

It’s not common but it’s not impossible. The stories of regular people, not celebrities who are getting pregnant over 45 are the ones who weren’t trying. It’s usually a shock and surprise.

I have been post menopausal for probably 10 years on HRT, and I believe I have ovulated at least twice since being post menopausal-once being a couple of weeks ago. I been trying to find information about the uterus. I have read that the uterus as long as there is no condition it can be good for IVF for ever, but my IVF doctor told me that mine is too old. Today I turn 53. Had an IVF baby at 50. We want to give her a sibling 😟

Within 60 days anyone can get pregnant, feeling the changes in your body the first few weeks.
