Don’t need cheat codes I’ve done it without just follow the Seam of the engine closes to you and get inside go forward and dodge rooms until you find a big black platform next to it is a big hunk of metal which you can stand on and use the propulsion cannon to have it lift you into the air to one of the doors then jump and squeeze in it’s hard but possible without cheats

When you jumped into the water around the back of the aurora and floated around to look at the aurora debris without tools or a sea moth to protect you from, yknow, THEM. I got so paranoid

I had always hoped for a full opening cutscene from unknown worlds for this game. Your character is in the cafetria section of the ship, enjoying his meal talking to other workers and alterra scientists when you suddenly see the green beam from the containment platform shoot through the aurora and you get to see your character fully run to the lifepod.

Even in creative and in a video the Reaper’s distant roar gives me anxiety.

I hope they design a full aurora and upload a game where you get to walk around in it, maybe interact with some people, or even multiplayer, interact with buttons and “control” the ship or even crash the aurora causing the alarms to go off and such but when it actually is destroyed it just resets everything and respawns everyone

The reason why fire disappears from the Aurora is because fire has an HP value. However, in order to get their HP to 0, you need a fire extinguisher. They have an HP value of 20. Thr explosion "damages" the fire.

Actually though it is different, for a couple reasons: 1. No shaking 2. No annoying falling particles that make you go insane because you can't see 3. Lots of debris isn't loaded for performance(?) 4. A couple fires aren't there 5. The way you get in? How about a nice big *fall* 6. Some textures are different/aren't loaded 7. refer to 5 for the second entrance (but now with floating fire! :O)

I never knew the black box was a thing and I beat the game launched the rocket and everything I thought the black box was the terminal in the captains room

First time I went to the aurora I didnt know reapers spawned so i didnt bring gear or a seamoth, only a seaglide. I also went around the ship instead of going straight to the entrance, and somehow magically avoided both the reapers. Happy I didnt meet them, could've been scarred for life lol

This makes sence. I've already realized that the Aurora changes model in the radioactive flash in the middle of the explosion animation, wich in of it shelf does quite a good job of hiding it. So, there is no reason to load the inside parts along with the outside, because you aren't going to see them from far away. Then again, if that's the logic, why not have the inside loaded too, and then simply change the outside texture the hull, during the explosion(along with the bridge collapsing).it would make it so that even fewer stuff has to be reloaded

The short answer is: nothing new is present in the Aurora before the crash, because you were never meant to be there, so it wouldn't make sense to model anything for it or do anything with it. The 'body' of the hull that later explodes is just a hollow shell that sometimes lacks textures on the inside.The only notable change afterwards is that the entrance spawns in and some more debris appears where it would have otherwise clipped through the shell before.

People have been getting in without cheats before the explosion for ages when doing speedruns

i used cheats to make the aurora explode and then when i was in the aurora i used the restoreship command and i fell out of the world, just kept on falling.

I wanted to go test this out, but I was always too lazy to speedrun the lead suit for this

my last play though i was cleaning out the ship i was done started to leave but right at the door of the hanger with the prawn suits i fell through the ship don't know how i did it but i saw some hidden rooms exploring it and stuff it was cool i managed to glitch back out.

So you visit the reactor room before the ship explodes, and you don't even try to repair the core to prevent the explosion? That is a big missed opportunity.

They should make a Subnautica DLC that you can choose the "Fixed Aurora" or "Broken Aurora" Broken is the game rn and Fixed will allow you to go throughout Subnautica fixing the damages to the ship and once done fly it into space then comes basically Subnautica but in space, theres aliens, Space Levitations, Space dragons, and alot more

1:30 I’ve done that just by bad luck-got stuck in random areas both early on when I trialed it and then recently(ish) when I went there in a freedom world and lost a lot of work due to not saving well

If you want to do this but the Aurora exploded, for any device start a new save but for pc open console and type something like "restoreaurora"

If you interacted with the console in the Captain's quarters would it have given you the escape rocket blueprints even though Alterra HQ hasn't actually sent them yet? Also I wonder what would happen if you repaired the drive room before the explosion. Would it make you re-repair it later?

i already did explodeship while i was in and nothing happened, i just heard the big boom but nothings else.

Yea I remember falling there because of a lag( I was in survival mode)

the raeson nothing could be seen until you teleported to the genroom is because the aurora is its own biome and so it wont load anything in until you in that biome

Imagine how many people were alive on the ship before the explosion of the crashed ship (What I mean is the survivors)

I had a glitch where even after it exploded the arora interior refused to load. this happened in both my first and second playthoughs and forced me to reset. could not continue. it sucked
