Thanks Oli and Lee. Great video for showing the truth. However, to haters, they never directly answer your questions if they feel the contents don't support their belief. They will ask you "do they have freedom of speech? Can they vote? Can they criticise the gov." It's a shame really but I do appreciate some open-minded people will think again what biased information they have been fed by the mainstream western media.

They like nothing better than going to visit an historic or scenic site-on a Sunday drive, or maybe a weeks' holiday if we're going further away. My wife's aunt has an elecronic mah jong table, which shuffles the tablets and sets them up in the '4 walls' etc. The TV has loads of channels with soaps and talent contests.Seems like everyone wants to be a pop singer.

I have been to several countries and I have traveled all over the US. Other than my time in the military I have lived in several places in Texas. In all of those places none ever truly felt like home, or a place I could truly call home, even the place I was born. I have never been to a place that I could truly say this is where I could spend the rest of my life and be happy until I went to China! This may seem strange to some but while I was there in China, everywhere I traveled I truly felt at peace and happy. I have never felt like that before. The day I left China was a very sad day for me because I worried that I would never be able to return. There is a saying that, “ home is where the heart is”. I believe that is true because my heart is in China.

All agreed that their lives had improved tremendously. One cabbie told me the govt encourage them to give up the small farm as it is not making enough. The govt will in return gives them an apartment and help them find jobs. But if they insist on keeping the farm and still farm their small land, the govt will see what is the average income of the province and made up for the shortfall if their incomes fall below the provincial level as they are doing poverty alleviation. They honoured their farmers and dont want them left behind financially. Now this is not shown in any western media. the govt really takes care of its people. This is the real socialism with a Chinese flavour.

The Chinese government is different from Western countries. Western countries will favor the bourgeoisie in their policies and help the rich. The focus of the Chinese government is always that the proletariat is higher than the bourgeoisie, and the poor are higher than the rich. That’s why you will find that the Chinese government will always It will put poverty alleviation and the development of agriculture in the most important position. For poverty alleviation, China will not simply give money to the poor, or even help them find jobs. China's poverty alleviation method is to develop a large number of economies in poor areas, build infrastructure, and create job opportunities. Our government will never give us living allowances. Living allowances will only be given to the disabled, and what our government gives us is fierce competition. So every Chinese has a dream of getting rich, just like the "American Dream", but the Chinese want to succeed and the mentality of wanting to be prosperous is something that everyone has. And everyone has worked hard for it all his life. It seems we can never stop. The government did not force us, but our culture is like this, we must be rich

Not only big cities like beijing, also ALL cities and villages, EVERYWHERE has COMPLETELY changed. My hometown the smallest province and very poor area has completely changed. The Senior Activity Centre in this video is quite common. My parents went to Senior University after retirement (actually learning/activity centre) to learn how to use computer, ipad, smartphone, singing, drawing, dance, taiji, etc. Maybe Western countries is the heaven for children. I am confident to say China is the heaven for seniors. Chinese culture, Of all the virtues, filial piety comes the first. People do their best to take care of parents. My parents live with my sister family. Their daily "task" is to exercise. foe example, my mom, 80 years old, starts her day from 5am. Practice Qigong for 2-3 hours then breakfast prepared by my sister. Then go to the huge park in the residential community to exercise and social with lots of other seniors. The park has all kinds of facilities for exercise. then come home for lunch. then take a nap. In the afternoon my mom usually watch TV or play poke with friends. then practise Taiji for a couple of hours. Then dinner. then watch TV and sleep quite early before 9. When family member birthday and any festival and weekend from time to time, all my siblings families come to my sister to have big lunch together because my parents are there. It's very typical and common life style of Chinese seniors. Home is where your parents are. Go home.

First of all, thank you very much for your reporting objectively. This generation of retirees is the happiest generation. My parents are the same age as them. They can retire very early (55 for women and 60 for men), and they can get very good pensions. Due to the extension of life expectancy, China has also entered an aging society, and it is inevitable to extend the retirement age (both men and women cannot retire until 65).

In many urban districts there are parks, beautiful clean shady parks with benches with many groups of people performing activities like singing, dancing, playing chess (Chinese and Western), music, table tennis, fixed fitness equipments for exercises, martial arts like Tai Chi and playground for children. Foreigners are welcome to join them without hassle. You feel like you are more at home than your own. On top of that you feel very safe in the street in the absence of physical violence and criminality. All amenities are in place to support your stay there as citizens or foreign visitors. Happiness is abound in comparison to other advance countries.
Barrett can go wherever he wants. See! Everybody is so happy. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Just look at all the smiling faces... so happy... no one complaining... no one criticising... everybody so so happy 😃😃😃 Barrett, you are so handsome ❤️❤️❤️❤️
