I'm trying to master just flying my drone. So when I get that under control I will try it from my truck. Thank you for always clearing things up. My wife and I are traveling the US in our 5th wheel so hopefully we can stay out of the cold by chasing the sun. With you advise I bought an Air 3 what a great flying drone. Still trying to get used to it. I am looking at the Eco Flow River 2 pro so I can use it to power up some of our smaller items and also charge Drone batteries while out flying. Thanks Russ.

Hey Russ -- been a subscriber to your channel for a while now, and love the straightforward, no-nonsense approach you take when teaching us about "dronecraft". (i'm not all that thrilled with the 'shorts', but that's mostly due to how they're presented in the YT interface [clunky, at best] -- certainly no issues with the content (other than, maybe, they're too short? haha) I've been thinking about picking up a portable power supply for a while now, and the River 2 Pro Portable would be my likely choice.. perhaps even with the solar recharge panel, as well!

Thanks for the clarification on flying from a vehicle. We don't experience severe winters here in Florida but on Summer days it might be good to park in a shady spot and fly. Speaking of Florida, the the EcoFlow River 2 Pro would be great to have around since we experience many power outages during summer storm and hurricane season. Also, it's small & portable to carry along in the car for re charging batteries for drones, cameras etc. Great price during the sale!

Florida: Some times I fly around my house from inside my electronics room. I can see the drone as per usual, but I can watch it on my Live security feed multi cams on a large 4k monitor. Seems a little robotic but the AC is cool.

I live on Guam which is always really hot during most of the months of the year and when it is....I'd rather sit in my car and fly with the ac on and be all nice and comfy than to be sweating buckets standing out in the 90s - 100s ° temps

Hi Russ. Good topic. Especially for us drone ops in winter cold climates (NS Canada here). a couple points. Maybe another video to talk about how to drone fly and drive. (Illegal) need a dedicated driver. And the other point is you are right about looking at the controller buttons when flying. As a recent stroke survivor. I lost use of the feeling in my left hand I have to actually see the left fingers and what they are doing ( putting pressure on stick) after 1000s of flights it was muscle brain memory that I could feel the amount of pressure I was using without looking. Now I have to see what my fingers are actually touching. It’s coming back with the more I do. Great videos. !!

Add to all of that very good information the fact that if your vehicle has a sunroof, your VLOS is even greater! Thanks for the info on hooking up an external monitor. Solid info! ECO FLOW: I really like the RIVER 2 Pro Portable. I have a Rock Pals unit that has helped power 2 CPAP units at the same time while we spent 10 days aboard a houseboat on the St. Johns River in Fla. It's also powered lamps and fans during power outages. I can see it being essential for keeping drone batteries topped off during road trips.

My winter doesn’t last as long as yours, but I still get two months of really cold winter weather at the Jersey Shore, so flying from my car is the best option somedays. Thanks clarifying the line of sights rules for such an occasion. Great video, thanks for sharing.

I have had my Ecoflow for 2 years now and i love it. We go camping alot and it came with two solar panels that charge it while in the woods. It also lasts a very, very long time. I have only had to recharge it twice. I use it my shed out back for lights, a compressor and all my tools still at 97% unbelievable quality!!!!! I am going to fly using active track soon. My son will watch as we go down some dirt roads in the next few weeks.

Excellent topic for winter flyers. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 2 Pro has the right combination of power and portability to get through a weekend of camping or a storm. The 220-watt solar panel can charge the unit in 3.5 hours, which is great for the limited winter sun.

Delta pro will be my favorite solar generator fot the capacity. And thanks for another informative video. You are probably in the north and I live in the south and in summer time it could be very hot standing under the sun. Flying from the car with a.c on is a great idea. Keep the good work.

@51 Drones - Good info as the LOS rule is so confusing, whether in the USA or the LOS ( Land Of Smiles). I just bought the Mini 4 Pro with RCN2 controller as I've been flying my old Mini 1 with a 10 1/2" Android tablet and love it. Great video Russ. I do this almost every time I fly. Even without the external monitor, it is way more comfortable in the car, especially toward the end of a long day of real estate photography/video. I think the EcoFlow Delta 2 @ with the Bifcial Solar charger would be my choice.

The EcoFlow DELTA mini Portable is plenty for my needs! I fly from inside my vehicle in cold and hot weather and can maintain VLOS. And I modified my controller with coax QMA quick connectors so I can put two magnetic antennae on my roof.

I live in the Midwest so flying from a vehicle is a good idea during the winter and spring months. It would be a good idea to bring a delta 2 so you can charge batteries well out in the field that product looks really cool.

Thanks Russ, good stuff as always. I enjoyed the info re hooking the controller up to a tablet or monitor. I hooked my RC Pro up to my Dell laptop so a client could better view while I was getting shots of his 46 acre Christmas tree farm. We currently use a Tesla whole house battery backup but I really like the idea of the stackable, modular EcoFlow system.

I worked for years in line construction, heated vest helped a lot. But my hands could never handle the days when the temps dropped below the mid 20’s for too long. With operating the controller in a warm truck would really extend my flight time. Delta 2 Max with solar, that way it can be charged on the go.

I'm a fan of the Delta 2 series. I got one a year ago, along with the extra battery and two 220W solar panels. The Delta 2 uses the newer (better) lithium technology, giving you a safer, longer lasting battery, and keeping a high enough capacity to suit my needs.

good video. Based on your recommendation, I purchased an Eco River Mini. Out of the box it worked fine the first time. When I tried to recharge, it wouldn't take a charge. Since I was having this issue, I did a little research and found that mine was not in isolated problem with Eco flow products. I am waiting on a response from Eco Flows technicians to hopefully resolve the issue. Hope your wife is doing well.

Favorite has to be the DELTA Pro Portable Power Station. The Versatility of the product is a must have, especially when you own a camper and go all the time. It comes in handy so much and the fact you can expand on the pack makes it even better.

Great video on learning how to legally fly your drone. I think the Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra is the best Black Friday deal because it is really expandable.

Hi! Thank you for having the give-away! I will be getting the River 2 Pro with the solar panel for my Christmas gift. I just bought the Mini 4 Pro (literally seconds ago) and will be using the RC 2 controller that came with my Air 3. I am sure I will need to recharge the controller while switching between the two drones during the day. The River 2 Pro with 800Wh is the perfect size!

Nice video! Thanks. I like the Delta 1300. It fits my needs at an off-grid cabin I have, and the price right now is terrific at just over $700! I’d love that mini 3 pro too! 😊

Hi Russ, I own EccoFlow Delta Pro, but looking to pickup one of the River 2 models for daily use. Maybe I'll even use it to power a 27" external monitor so I can fly my drone from the back of my truck. 😀

I like the ECOFlow BF Deal on the RIVER 2 Pro Portable. It has an impressive 600W AC outlets. Enough to power multiple devices simultaneously, from charging our smartphones to running a small electric cooler.
