@Coen McCluskey Nothing to do with ricochet, the explosives flatten out against the armour surface to increase the area. This transmits maximum energy through the plate to create greater spalling in the cabin.

183mm gun is like small for a heavy cruisers it's very shot barrel gun , It's a tank killer . On battle ships they have long barrel large caliber guns like 200mm to 350mm those are made to sink ships

@@Geniusinventor only similar in shell diameter, most ship guns are 45/50 calibres in length so but fv4005 gun is only 22.4 which is less than half even 113mm British destroyer gun is 45 calibres

It's not small at all. Huge (10K-12K tons displacement) light cruisers of WW2 had 6in (150-155 mm) main guns. Destroyers were 1/5 to 1/4 size of the light cruisers, and only a few German ones had 6in guns, as it was considered too huge for destroyers. 183mm is definitely deadly even to the light cruisers, and should be problematic even for the heavy ones like Prinz Eugen. Barrel length is irrelevant at the distance used in this test.

Yeah, but in WT that Pola would be good to go if given time to recover. Just flick on the pumps and wait for damage control. You can actually kill heavier ships in one torpedo if you manage to slip it into the ammo stowage at some angles. Steel Guru keeps aiming for where the belt armor is thickest, near the center of the ship.
