calories in and calories out is truth, but in terms of healthier foods, they have a ton m,ore micronutrients, thus lifting weights plus healthy food can make muscle growth and burn fat easier than if you to just eat junk food at the same caloric level (without no micronutrients)

Facts. When I was actively involved in Greco-Roman wrestling, I did not follow how I eat. And I was in the best physical shape of my entire life. Now, after a long time, I exercise much less, but eat 100% healthy food. And I'm not even close to being the monster I was.

Don’t forget that eating that chocolate bar is also high in fat and added sugar. Your body will put on more fat if eating this no matter if the calories are the same bc of the sugar and fat. Good point about the protein intake, etc.

Exactly lol, this wasn’t correct. The chocolate bar contains empty calories which your body will take and turn into fat quicker than anything that’s in the broccoli which contains many complex nutrients. The same amount of calories does not equal the same nutrients within those calories. For example, you could eat a rock with 100 calories, it’s not gonna be good for you, the same way that Big Mac of 100 calories wont be good for you.

Yes an no, as far as losing fat 100cal is 100cal regardless of how much sugar because the sugar content is included within the total calories for whatever you are eating. Where there is a large difference is either building muscle or retaining muscle during a deficit… because that chocolate bar doesn’t have the same amount of protein as a peice of chicken with the same calories, so you will not hit your protein goal needed to retain muscle

​@@APsGTGNo... sugar and fat are purely energy sources, and protein has two functions, energy source and a building block. If, let's say, you don't need any protein that day for repairing your body or build something (unlikely due to hair and nails, but let's say), then all of it will be converted to energy, then into glikogen, then into fat and stored if the energy is not needed. Of course there is probably some minimum amount of protein that you should eat that day to build hair etc., but anything over that is just energy. You do need the nutrients, and complex carbs for example will take longer to absorb (so no sugar spike, feelimg satisfied for longer), but it won't make a difference in your fat loss if you count calories. It will "only" matter for your overall health and how you feel throughout the day.

Healthy food keeps you full for longer than junk food even if you eat the same amount of calories. Therefore it is much easier to eat less calories when you eat healthy. Thus eating healthy leads to fat loss most of the time.

That's not true! 200 calories of a chocolate bar would signal a different hormone in your body compared to eating 200 calories of broccoli, sugar will be stored as fat but the fiber from the broccoli 🥦 will not be stored as fat calories. If you don't believe me check out the many videos by Dr Jason Fung.

Plus, junk food have a lot more calories and sugar than healthy food, fruits and protein and vegetables. One bag of hot Cheetos is a lot smaller portion than what healthy food equals and they both equal the same amount of calories. Having junk food for you regular meals would have a lot higher total calorie count than if you ate healthier food for your meals. If that makes sense.

It's kind of true but it's not that simple. If you eat 2000 calories of junk food a day you will feel very hungry and have cravings whereas if you eat 2000 calories of healthy food you will feel energetic and not be hungry.

You forgot to mention that 100 kcal from vegetables dont get get converted with nearly 100% efficency kcal from chocolate will be converted to much more efficent along side them beeing filling and healthy

@@BobRoss-wm3lc all things you eat need to be broken down and digested to be usable for your body complex sugars from brokoli and protein from chicken require allot of extra energy to be useable for your body so yes if you eat simple sugar and allot of fat with it its much more efficient for your body the problem is you need other nutrients like fiber a decent amount of protein and vitamins minerals and other stuff to life a healthy long life.

Actually eating fast food in moderation is way better than not eating fast food at all just because it will supress cravings and make you feel like your diet is more sustainable. Being too restrictive usually makes people wanna quit dieting.

@@mdotprime7567 i already know that, i actually don't eat any fast food other than maybe coffee (which i Don't count) but the thing is there have been many studies done on the matter that show how people who do order out once in a while are usually more likely to stick in their diet just because they don't feel left out from what used to be to them a standard activity

The calorie of a food cant represent the calorie the body can obtain from it... It also depends on other factors for example fibre content ... More fibre content in a carb source the lesser the calorie that can be obtained by the body ....so if we compare a 100cal of chocolate and 100cal of broccoli... the calorie that body obtains is much lesser for broccoli than chocolate...thats the difference between simple and complex carb ... Body needs more cal to digest complex carb as it contains more fibres

Definitely a good point. With fiber accounted for broccoli is an even better choice. Maybe broccoli wasn't the best example to use but the general answer to the question remains the same. You can lose fat by eating junk food.

I've 100% lost weight while still regularly eating candy and junk food like ice cream and pop tarts. If you know you're gonna eat something fun at night, for instance, then eat less during the day. Make sure the healthy lunch and dinner you eat are lower calorie choices and try to eat a lot of veggies, especially for snacks because they fill you up and are usually low calories. Plus, they have vitamins that you probably need. Also, healthy fats will fill you up, and you can easily burn that (avocados have healthy fats). Try to reduce carbs because your body loves to turn that into fat, which stays with you. It's simple: calorie deficit = weight loss. Burn more than you eat. It's really that simple (unless you have a bad medical issue, obviously) I lost 65 pounds and I ate ice cream all the time. lol I gained a bit back recently because I stopped doing so much cardio, but it will be easy to lose. Running and walking are your best friends. Good luck people!!! Edit: I don't know why but I forgot to mention protein. You're not gonna gain nearly as much weight if you eat a protein heavy meal, rather than a carb heavy meal, and your muscles really need protein if you want to build them, or even just want healthy muscles.

Actually that's very wrong. The body does care about what type of food you had. The insolite raise that you would get from chocolate is by no way comparison to eating 100 or 200 cals of broccoli 🥦. The insolite will store the sugar or carbs in your body which mostly will end up as fat. this mechanism is different than eating food with no sugar. It's a superficial way of seeing calories as if the body reacts to them the same way .

I will admit I lost over 60 lbs doing rolling 48-hour dry fasts and breaking it with burger king and a milkshake almost every time. That and Taco Bell lol and I was dropping 11 - 15 pounds a week. I lost 60 in a month and a half, with no loose skin.

Calories only matter for the people that are sugar burners. When you eat fat things change. More calories can be eaten and still lose weight. What matters is insulin.

Sure calories are true but that’s not the only factor in fat loss this is only half of the info there’s also bad carbs that some people like diabetics will turn to sugar and the next thing to take into consideration is sugar, sugar is the main cause of fat in most people(unhealthy sugars) so short answer: you don’t need to eat healthy but if you don’t you need to be extremely genetically gifted in that way to remain in shape and it isn’t recommended as it’s still unhealthy and isn’t a good life style

well yes and no because our bodies digest different food’s differently. keep in mind you body burn calories when it digests food. that why if you wanna lose weight protein and fiber are best because they burn so many calories to digest. fat and sugar take almost no energy to digest therefore you body doesn’t burn as much as it would with protein or fiber.

@@johnsinha69No don't listen to this guy he has a phd in bro science this is total bs many things involve weight gain let me list the things that make u gain weight from junk food high cortisol, high glucose, lower cardiovascular health, lower macronutrients, lower gut micro biome count which ur gut micro biome actually consumes a decent portion of ur food HOW DO U THINK THEY SURVIVE and they die when u feed them shit so no 2000 calories of health is not the same as 2000 calories of junk actually matter of fact Americans actually haven't increased the amount of calories they consume by very much since the 70s yet everyone's fat as shit now
